We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Sales Manager - Japan to lead our sales initiatives and drive revenue growth in the local market. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic sales plans, building and maintaining strong client relationships, and leading a high-performing sales team. Your efforts will directly contribute to achieving our business goals and enhancing our market position in Japan.

WHAT YOU ARE HERE TO DO
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Manage the full sales cycle for your allocated region.
- Work to individual and team targets, as well as focused KPIs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the Korean market to meet or exceed revenue and growth targets.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with regional and global leadership to align strategies and objectives.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for high-value accounts, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Unlock new users of disguise products and workflow.
- Balance outbound prospecting for new business with account management of existing clients.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and agreements in line with company policies.
Market Development
- Increase brand awareness and market reach in key verticals: TV/Broadcast, Film, Esports, Fixed Install/LBX, and Corporate.
- Work with our direct partner network to increase disguise’s presence in the region.
- Organize demos and technical pre-sales and post-sales activity using the Technical Solutions team.
- Work with the marketing team to generate interest and knowledge of the brand across Japan.
Operational Excellence
- Produce accurate forecasts for sales of products and services monthly.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, forecasts, and market insights to senior management.
- Work with the Sales Admin to process quotes, orders, invoicing, and delivery of goods to customers.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
- Assist with the contract process on the Public Procurement Service site.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize sales operations.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a dynamic sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Set clear goals and performance metrics, providing regular feedback and coaching to ensure success.
- Organize training sessions to enhance the team’s product knowledge and sales capabilities.
- Work with the VP of Sales APAC to plan, resolve issues, and ensure good communication across the team.
Reporting and Strategy
- Present sales, revenue, and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
- Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
- Design and implement a strategic business development plan that expands the company's customer base and ensures its strong presence in managed regions.
Translation and Localization
- Translate technical support service contracts and conditions, quotes, letters, and other documents from English to Japanese.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIOURS
- 5-7 years in direct, system solution selling
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets
- Strong knowledge of direct sales and reselling networks in previous sales roles
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
- Experience in lead generation, working with decision-makers, and closing deals
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Fluent in Japanese and English (both written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & BEHAVIOURS:
- Master’s degree or MBA is a plus
- Experience in [specific industry, e.g., technology, manufacturing, FMCG, etc.]
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Commercially minded, with a proven track record of sales growth
