Senior Procurement Manager

The role: 

As a Senior Procurement Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in optimising SaaS procurement for our EMEA clients. You'll partner closely to develop strategic sourcing plans, navigate complex negotiations with key SaaS vendors, and oversee supplier relationships throughout their lifecycle.

Your proven track record in saving costs will be instrumental in maximising value for our customers. This is a key role, ready to make a significant impact on our enterprise customer success.

You’ll be reporting to the Head of Procurement and work closely with the rest of the Procurement and CS team, with responsibility for delivering great outcomes to our customers by negotiating SaaS purchases and renewals with their vendors.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll work with some of the fastest growing and best known companies in the world, negotiating SaaS deals on their behalf
  • You’ll engage with our customers’ senior stakeholders to gain a deep understanding of their requirements and purchase objectives
  • You’ll act as the primary buy-side contact for our customers, ensuring that their commercial objectives are met
  • You’ll work closely with the Vertice account management and sales teams to maintain strong relationships with our customers.

Requirements

  • You will bring extensive commercial experience in a indirect procurement, strategic sourcing, or procurement consulting experience 
  • You will bring real negotiation expertise to the role, with an in-depth knowledge of the available levers to pull and strategies to employ to get the best result
  • You’ll be highly experienced in high volume and high value transactions in a buying, selling or facilitating capacity; £Xm pref
  • You’ll be an active listener that negotiates with empathy and understands negotiating isn’t about “winning”
  • You’ll be a creative thinker that challenges customers and suppliers to help reach desired outcomes
  • You’ll be an amazing people-person! Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers is a must
  • You'll have a strong understanding of the SaaS market and/or IT category, gained through working as an AE either supplier side or in the channel, or through owning software spend in an IT Procurement team
  • With a flexible, agile, and adaptable approach; used to wearing multiple hats and you won’t get easily overwhelmed
  • Comfortable with complex concepts, and an ability to talk confidently about software, the market, product alternatives and the structure of commercial deals
  • You will be polished enough to have consultative conversations with senior-level customers, able to make recommendations and to challenge the status quo
