Veeam is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Payroll Specialist to join their growing team due to their rapid growth and expansion. This exciting full-time opportunity allows you to work with a fantastic team.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Payroll administration for the APJ region
- End-to-end payroll processing, ensuring deadlines are met
- Manage employee details in the payroll system, including new hires, transfers, compensation adjustments, and terminations.
- Effectively communicating and working with service providers (including the use of online platforms) to execute payroll that adheres to local labour legislative requirements
- Process payroll-related journals
- General ledger reconciliations and variance analysis (payroll-related accounts)
- Assist in Month End and Year End processing, Audit Requests, and ad-hoc reporting for payroll
- Resolve payroll queries in an accurate, timely, and customer-focused manner
- Continually improve and streamline the payroll process
- Prepare and lodge monthly payroll tax reporting where required
- Prepare and lodge annual worker’s compensation insurance where required
- Prepare and lodge annual Fringe Benefits Tax (‘FBT’) return
- Help with payroll reporting and HR analytics
About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce (Essential)
- 5+ years’ experience in payroll
- The ability to speak and write Mandarin, Japanese or other Asia languages is an advantage
- Experience with payroll and ERP systems such as ADP, NetSuite, FloQast, and Workday (Desirable)
- A sound understanding of payroll tax, PAYG, superannuation, and Work Cover
- Extensive knowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations, and legislative requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritise and balance competing priorities in a busy work environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of numeric accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Advanced computer skills including a strong knowledge of Windows and Microsoft-based applications
