Purpose of Role:
The candidate's primary responsibilities will include i) updating the business’ database as and when new information is posted, ii) ensuring the data has been properly cleaned and troubleshooting all errors and failures, iii) writing code to improve the analysis and retrieval of data, iv) managing reporting for deal and portfolio risk/KPI’s, v) working with the team’s quantitative analyst to expand automated analytics systematically, vi) working with portfolio management and marketing to expand and improve reporting to portfolio management, investment committee, sales, limited partners and prospective investors.
The candidate will work closely with the team’s portfolio and quantitative analysts based in London to ensure the team’s business information is available and accurate at all times.
The ideal candidate will grow into the position by bringing engineering, data visualization and coding capabilities to the job.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Configure, Update, Maintain, Clean and Upload data tapes and credit events (received from banks in an excel format), into a SQL database ensuring the management of the full ETL pipeline
- Management of vast datasets, daily, ensuring monitoring of data discrepancies and maintaining accuracy of data
- Updating, Generating and Expanding the monthly and quarterly reports produced by the fund, ensuring data accuracy across reporting tasks alongside independent expansion of reporting metrics and charting through Python
- Configure and upload portfolio/deal data to an external valuation agent and ensuring data is correct and reflective of portfolio
- Point of contact for data access from CPM/Portfolio Management
Technical Competencies:
- Degree educated in a STEM subject with a minimum 1st class or upper 2nd (or equivalent) achieved
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a data analyst/visualisation role
- Computer literate with intermediate skills within Python, utilising VS Code (or equivalent IDE), Jupyter and Github on a day-to-day basis
- Collaboration, communication, organisation, and presentation skills together with the ability to confidently deal with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to write and communicate in a clear, concise and ‘audience-appropriate’ manner with prudent and detailed understanding of underlying data
