About the Client

Our partner is a payment gateway provider that operates a massive ecosystem of brands. They simplify complex payments through smart routing technology, real-time monitoring, and SSL/PCI DSS Level 1 security.

As their exclusive recruitment partner, we manage their full-cycle talent acquisition.

What You Will Do

  • Draft and negotiate a diverse portfolio of payments ecosystem contracts, including merchant agreements, acquiring contracts, payment gateway agreements, referral contracts, and payment facilitator agreements.

  • Identify potential legal risks and liabilities within commercial arrangements, proactively recommending and implementing robust mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct comprehensive legal due diligence on prospective payment service providers and strategic partners.

  • Monitor evolving payment industry regulations (including PCI DSS, GDPR, and AML/KYC frameworks) to provide timely, actionable legal guidance to the business.

  • Execute detailed legal risk assessments for new payment products, services, and platform integrations.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with legal, compliance, finance, and product teams to deliver practical, business-focused legal support on all payment-related matters.

  • Ensure all contractual documentation remains strictly compliant with applicable regulatory standards and internal corporate policies.

What You Bring

  • Educational Background: A University degree in Law or a closely related field.

  • Legal Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of specialized experience in contract law, with a strong preference for backgrounds in payment services, financial services, or complex commercial agreements.

  • Domain Expertise: Solid working knowledge of payment processing lifecycles, merchant services, and the surrounding regulatory environments.

  • Core Skills: Excellent analytical capabilities, sharp negotiation tactics, and exceptional contract drafting skills.

  • Autonomy & Agility: The ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks independently within a dynamic, fast-paced tech environment.

  • Bonus Points:

    • Direct experience managing cross-border payment regulations and international merchant agreements.

    • Familiarity with digital payment technologies and emerging fintech sector developments.

    • Previous exposure to the iGaming industry's unique payment and legal landscape.

    • Outstanding communication skills, capable of translating complex legal jargon into actionable insights for non-legal stakeholders.
