Job Overview
The Quality Control Associate plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity and compliance of all products listed on Jumia's platform. This position manages the end-to-end Quality Control process, including pre-QC review and onsite management, ensuring that all seller listings comply with regulatory, prohibited, and counterfeit policies, as well as Jumia's product guidelines. The role is responsible for product quality assurance, compliance verification, authenticity checks, and the accuracy of information displayed across all website listings. This position is essential to maintaining operational efficiency and customer trust.
What You Will Be Doing
Quality Control Management
- Conduct comprehensive product reviews at the Quality Control level for the Product Information Management (PIM)/ and Vendor Center
- Perform onsite Quality Control checks across all product categories to ensure compliance with Jumia standards
- Review and approve seller product listings within established service level agreements
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements including SON (Standards Organisation of Nigeria) prohibitions and NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control) restrictions across brands and products
- Enforce GTIN (Global Trade Item Number) compliance and manage the GTIN and JSIN initiative for seller listings
- Monitor and manage Full Drop Shipping restrictions and Grocery category-specific restrictions
- Conduct daily sensitive keyword checks for restricted brands, counterfeit products, prescription medications, and prohibited items
- Perform "Not Safe for Work" content checks to ensure appropriate product listings
Issue Resolution & Reporting
- Manage product flags and customer reports captured through the "Report a Product" feature on Sprinklr
- Investigate and resolve compliance issues related to fake and counterfeit products
- Handle product authenticity concerns and listing accuracy discrepancies
- Respond to quality control escalations within defined SLAs
Performance Monitoring
- Track and maintain KPIs related to product review turnaround times
- Monitor return rates for fake and counterfeit reasons
- Ensure case resolution rates meet SLA requirements
- Maintain accurate records of quality control activities and compliance checks
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Quality Management, or related field
- Strong understanding of Nigerian regulatory compliance requirements (SON, NAFDAC, etc.)
- Experience with product information management systems (PIM) or vendor portals
- Proficiency in quality control processes and compliance management
- Experience with case management and ticketing systems (e.g., Sprinklr or similar platforms)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate complex compliance issues
- Ability to manage multiple routine checks and tasks simultaneously while meeting SLA requirements
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with sellers, internal teams, and stakeholders
- Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks and complete product reviews within one business day
- Experience working in e-commerce or marketplace platforms (preferred)
