Jumia Delivery Business Developer - Jumia (Full Time)

What you will be doing:
- Build, grow, and scale the Jumia Delivery business within Kenya, driving significant market penetration and sustained expansion.
- Identify, prospect, negotiate, and close commercial deals with new businesses to utilize Jumia Delivery services, actively expanding our client portfolio.
- Lead the implementation and onboarding process for new Jumia Delivery clients, driving adoption of our services and ensuring a smooth transition.
- Partner with marketing and operations to develop and execute promotional strategies for Jumia Delivery, ensuring clear communication and operational alignment.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through proactive engagement, ensuring exceptional customer experience, addressing concerns, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Monitor Jumia Delivery logistics with the operations team, identifying and resolving process issues to ensure service quality and client satisfaction.
- Master and ensure consistent application of the Jumia Delivery playbook, its principles, and best practices across teams and client interactions.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and feedback to identify opportunities for Jumia Delivery's service improvement, innovation, and growth in Kenya.
- Report regularly to senior management on sales performance, client acquisition, key account status, and customer satisfaction.
What we are looking for:
- Degree from a top university in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management (client-facing), ideally in logistics, e-commerce, or tech.
- Proven success in exceeding sales targets and driving business growth, with excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, and deal-closing skills.
- Strong grasp of logistics and last-mile delivery; e-commerce logistics experience is a plus.
- Customer-centric with a proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Experience working effectively across functions (e.g., Marketing, Operations, Customer Service).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at using data for decisions and performance tracking.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the official local language(s) of Kenya.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment; self-motivated, proactive, organized, with strong ownership and able to work independently.
