Inventory Team Lead - Jumia (Full Time)

What you will be doing
- Own the inventory management from reception at the hub till dispatch to customers or return to vendors
- Lead routine (daily or monthly) cycle counts
- Liaise with commercial teams over aging items needing a return to a vendor or a campaign to sell them
- Ensure inventory processes & systems are adhered to end-to-end
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments
- Monitor the achievement of related Key performance indicators
- Enhance Customer and Vendor Experience
- Process mapping as per best practices in other Jumia countries
- Adoption of FiFo as a model
- Institute proper handling, movement, and storing of items within the warehouse
- Manage space within the hub ensuring it is fully utilized
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of experience in a distribution, warehousing or logistics and Supply Chain environment
- At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership
- Basic knowledge of Finance will be an added advantage
- Advanced Excel skills
- English proficiency
- Understanding of eCommerce Direct-to-Consumer order fulfillment concepts
- Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer

- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create and execute promotional campaigns and initiatives tailored to the category.
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Monitor and report on key account metrics, including sales performance, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate and finalize agreements with key accounts, ensuring mutual benefit and sustainable partnerships.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to key clients, addressing any issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences within the category.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, operations, and logistics, to ensure seamless account management and fulfillment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven 2 to 4 years of work experience in commercial, account management preferably within the e-commerce or retail industry.
- Strong understanding of the category, including product knowledge and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think strategically and develop actionable plans to drive category growth.
- Proficiency in using CRM software, Excel, and other sales management tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
