Risk Analyst

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Your IMC journey begins with our Analyst School, led by our dedicated traders. Over two or three intensive weeks, you'll learn from our traders about how they approach our trading strategies in a way that feels personalised to you. During these weeks, you’ll link up with analysts from all three IMC regions: Europe, the US, and Asia-Pacific. You'll gain insights into the world of IMC, you'll attend lectures and workshops, you'll receive support from a dedicated mentor, and you'll participate in company-wide social activities.

As a Risk Analyst, you operate at the beating heart of our business: in the dealing room of IMC’s Amsterdam office. Your work supports IMC’s critical day-to-day risk management activities, including the monitoring and analysis of our markets, as well as our credit, liquidity, and operational risks. What happens next is up to you!

Your core responsibilities:

  • Become an expert in options, financial markets, and how IMC applies algorithmic trading as a market maker
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of IMC’s proprietary risk management systems, together with our Engineers
  • Analyse developments in the markets in which we trade and identify risks and opportunities
  • Be an integral part of your team by advising on limit requests, monitoring intraday and overnight risks, and discussing key exposures with our trading desks

Your skills and experience:

  • Up to two years of relevant experience, in an internship and/or similar role (prior experience in the world of derivatives trading is a plus!)
  • An academic background in Mathematics, Physics and/or Econometrics or a related field
  • Proficiency in a programming language is preferred (Python, MATLAB or R)
  • First-class analytical skills and a desire to solve complicated problems creatively
  • A genuine interest in financial markets
