Head of Office & Facility Management

Amsterdam, Netherlands

The role

Are you someone that can be hands-on and strategic at the same time, and are you getting excited when everything regarding the office and facilities is arranged well? Then we might be looking for you.

As our Head of Office & Facility Management, you’ll be responsible for a.o. our seating plan, which can be quite a puzzle, as we keep on growing. You connect easily with all relevant stakeholders, and are the go to person if it comes to a vision on our desk assignment policy.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and are looking for a facilities related project management role, then this could be the role for you.

What you’ll do

• Ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding experiences from a facilities perspective, including desk setup, access, and supplies.

• Manage desk planning, including the strategy (e.g., fixed vs. flexible seating) and day-to-day execution of desk allocation and availability — balancing high demand with limited desk supply in a thoughtful and transparent way.

• Act as a listener and mediator when resolving seating requests or conflicts, ensuring a fair and well-communicated approach across teams.

• Develop and implement a longer-term vision for desk strategy, taking into account hybrid working models, flexible seating, team clustering, and future growth.

• Oversee coordination of all meeting rooms, desk bookings, and Sky Bar availability for internal events such as internships, traineeships, and presentations / meetups.

• Lead the Facilities and Office Management team (2 direct reports), ensuring a smooth daily operation of the office environment.

• Create and drive the strategy for travel bookings, determining the optimal balance between individual autonomy and centralized booking processes.

• Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders (HR, IT, Events, etc.) on office- related matters.• Keep the office informed of any workplace disruptions, such as renovations, major events, or facility issues (e.g., broken equipment, access problems), including regular updates on timelines, progress, and expected resolution to minimize impact on day-to-day operations.

• Drive continuous improvement through feedback collection and regular review of office services, technology use, and team satisfaction.

Who You Are

• 7+ years of experience in office/facility management in a fast-paced, high-standard environment (tech, finance, or professional services preferred)

• Proven experience leading teams and managing complex vendor ecosystems

• Skilled communicator, listener, and facilitator with the ability to handle sensitive requests and balance competing priorities

• Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to drive and implement long- term office and seating strategies

• Visionary and pragmatic approach to space utilization, hybrid work, and evolving workplace needs

• Fluent in Dutch and English
