The Role

As an Account Executive in the Banking & Finance advertising sales team, you’ll support advertising clients across FT core and FT Specialist titles, with a specific focus on FT Adviser. You will act as a product specialist, collaborating closely with the Product Champion to support FT Adviser’s commercial growth. This development-focused role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to revenue generation, idea creation, and new business opportunities while working closely with cross-functional teams including Editorial, Marketing, Insight and Campaign Operations.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract opportunity, anticipated to end on 31st December 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of client-ready proposals across the FT portfolio.

  • Build relationships with junior and mid-level agency and client contacts.

  • Conduct lead-generation through account mapping and competitor analysis.

  • Use FT audience and insight tools to advise proposals.

  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records.

  • Work collaboratively with internal teams across the sales process.

FT Adviser Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Act as the go-to product specialist for FT Adviser.

  • Drive revenue growth and identify upsell opportunities across digital display, content, and broader FT assets.

  • Represent FT Adviser confidently in external and internal meetings.

  • Liaise with Editorial to identify aligned commercial opportunities.

  • Build compelling sales materials and narratives in collaboration with marketing.

  • Introduce new insights to expand FT Adviser’s profile and commercial potential.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in sales or commercial roles, with a desire to grow in this area.
  • Proactive, curious and commercially minded, with a strong interest in media and financial services.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise.

  • Collaborative approach with confidence working across teams, including editorial.

  • Proficient in Salesforce and LinkedIn.

Desirable

  • Experience working in or with the financial services industry.

  • Familiarity with digital advertising sales.

  • Previous exposure to FT products and platforms (including Slack).
