About the Role
Yondr is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented BI Business Analyst to join a newly created BI & Data Services function within Global Technology (IT), delivering financial reporting solutions to CFO functions such as FP&A, Financial Control, Accounts Payable (AP) Accounts Receivable (AR) and Commercial Finance using PowerBI and D365 F&O. You will specialise in UX/UI design and designing powerful yet easy to understand PowerBI reports.
As the Finance BI Business Analyst you will primarily represent the Global Technology – Data Services function as the PowerBI SME for D365 F&O, supporting FP&A and BI workstream leads in Finance. You will document the reporting business requirements for Finance, including process diagrams, data flows, as well as the proposed design, KPIs, metrics and visuals. You will develop report wireframes and POCs and manage the end-to-end delivery of the Finance BI solution, including development and training of PowerBI reports and dashboards to finance users.
You will also ensure all Finance BI Reporting aligns to Yondr’s data and technology governance practices and standards and be accountable Finance BI adhering to PowerBI best practices to ensure sufficient business continuity of Finance Reporting.
Main Responsibilities
This is a hands-on PowerBI delivery role for a Finance BI Business Analyst and you will be accountable for delivering and maintaining end-to-end finance reporting to Finance. You will work closely with your peers in Data Services and Global Technology to ensure BI reporting through Yondr is consistent and compliant with Yondr’s data and technology governance.
/ Base Knowledge & Ownership: SME level knowledge of design and build of Microsoft PowerBI and D365 FP&A Reporting, including PowerBI data models and flows, connecting to Data Warehousing (Snowflake) and leveraging D365, Fabric and Dataverse.
/ Finance Collaboration: Work closely with Finance workstream leads, SI Consultants, SME's and wider programme team (PMO) to identify areas of improvement, re-organisational alignment, and review existing financial planning and reporting processes, identify pain points and work with workstream leads and SMEs to propose future processes.
/ BI Requirements Capture: Explore the art-of-the-possible with finance and business SMEs to gather data and reporting requirements via an iterative UX focussed wireframing process. Guide/challenge reporting requirements via the wireframing process so to ensure effective reporting functional and non-functional requirements are captured and documented in a way that clearly articulates how the requirements simplifies or improves the Finance function.
/ Data Model Development: Work with BI Data Engineers on the development and documentation of PowerBI data models that facilitate standardised and adhoc reporting and analysis.
/ PowerBI Development: Work with the business to deliver powerful data-rich reports and dashboards that effectively and visually articulate the view of Finance functions.
/ Deployment & Testing: Develop rigorous testing plans and assist in functional testing to ensure reports and dashboards function correctly. Identify and assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies discovered during SIT/UAT and in Production.
/ Monitoring Performance & Optimisation: Ensure all Finance Reporting is designed to be high availability and performant for the business continuity of Finance, implementing to best practices. Establish mechanisms to monitor PowerBI connectors and flows. Utilise monitoring and performance management tools to track system performance and resolve issues proactively.
/ Troubleshooting and Support: Troubleshoot and resolve BI Reporting issues promptly, including issues raised as complex and critical incidents with IT Operations. Provide expert technical support and guidance to both internal and external teams, ensuring minimal disruption to Finance operations downstream.
/ Complete Documentation: Maintain “just enough” documentation for data and warehousing, including data architecture diagrams, data flow diagrams, and technical specifications. Ensure documentation is concise, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
/ Drive Change Management: Champion practices that drive proper change management to current and future Financial reporting.
/ Align to Security and Compliance: Work with our technology, infosec and corporate governance teams to ensure Finance BI Reporting adheres to the highest standards of security, regulatory and accreditation compliance. Implement necessary security measures to protect sensitive data reports and ensure Finance BI is demonstrably compliant to ISO27001/22301, SOC2-Type2 and financial audits.
/ Lead BI Reporting Delivery: Coordinate with Finance FP&A and BI leads to deliver a slick BI Reporting capability to Finance. Manage engagements with 3rd parties such as outsourced data services and D365 teams and/or consultants to ensure delivery of required objectives within agreed time, budget and to required quality.

/ Comfortable working within a globally distributed Finance focused team
Required Experience
/ 5+ years’ of demonstratable experience of global or corporate finance processes
/ Highly proficient in delivering Finance BI Reporting to Finance functions that use D365.
/ Highly proficient in full life cycle BI implementations using PowerBI and D365 F&O, (requirements gathering, wireframing, POCs, business and functional design documentation, UAT, training and deployment).
/ Highly proficient with Microsoft PowerBI data modelling, reporting, apps, SQL, DAX and administration of the PowerBI service.
/ Proficient use of wireframing tools such as Figma, Sketch, Lucid and PowerPoint
/ Proficient use of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and PowerBI Desktop, as well as using Azure DevOps to deploy across DEV, SIT/UAT and Production environments.
/ Advanced critical thinking ability, including strong problem solving, analytical, prioritisation, and project management skills. Ability to interpret business requirements and processes and translate them to system functionality
/ Demonstrable ability to engage and manage different level stakeholders and multicultural audience/s through superior communication and presentation skills
/ Highly structured and proven ability to manage and run projects as well as effectively report on the status of deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications or Experience
/ Accounting qualification is preferred but not essential
/ Project Management: Six Sigma qualifications very desirable but not essential
/ Microsoft Certified: DP-203 - Azure Data Engineer Associate or DP-600 - Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate or similar (Current or evidence of previously held) very desirable but not essential
/ Experience with Microsoft Fabric very desirable but not essential
