About the Role
The Construction Manager is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily execution and progress complex projects. This position requires hands on management of site construction, ensuring safety, quality and budget & schedule adherence. The Construction Manager works closely with contractors, consultants, engineers and other key stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project milestones while resolving any onsite issues.
Main Responsibilities
· Site Oversight: Provide daily on-site supervision of construction activities. Ensure work is performed safely efficiently and in accordance with design specifications and drawings.
· Project Leadership: Direct and coordinate site teams, including subcontractors, Consultants and vendors. Set daily weekly work priorities and monitor task execution.
· Schedule Management: Maintain and update project schedules. Identify potential delays early and implement mitigation strategies to stay on track.
· Quality Control: Inspect work regularly to ensure quality standards are achieved. Resolve construction issues promptly and escalate when necessary.
· Health and Safety ompliance: enforce job site safety protocols and ensure that all stakeholders follow regulatory and company specific safety protocols.
· Progress Reporting: Conduct and participate in weekly progress meetings. Track progress maintains site logs and report updates to the project director and other stakeholders.
· Vendor Coordination: Manage & maintain relationships with subcontractors, OC I vendors, and consultants on site, verify completed work for payment and ensure timely deliverables.
· Site Readiness: Plan coordinate site inspections, punch list and project handovers, ensure that the site is prepared for each project phase transition.
· Change Management: Evaluate and manage changes in project scope, schedule, or objectives. Develop change management strategies and communicate changes to relevant parties.
· Contract Management: Oversee vendor and supplier contracts, negotiations, and relationships. Ensure contract compliance and vendor performance.
Qualifications and experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, project management, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Extensive experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Financial acumen for budget management.
• Experience in risk management and change management.
• PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.
Working Conditions
• The role may require travel to project sites or meetings with stakeholders.
• Project Directors may need to work evenings, weekends, or irregular hours to meet project deadlines.
