About the role

The Senior vMix Operator will be responsible for leading the operation, configuration, and execution of all productions using vMix within SportyNet’s live and recorded environments. This professional plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality switching, graphics integration, audio/video routing, remote contributions, and overall technical performance during live shows, match broadcasts, interviews, and special programming.
The Senior vMix Operator will collaborate closely with production, editorial, engineering, design, and talent teams to deliver polished, stable, and visually compelling broadcasts.

 

What you'll be doing

Live Production Operation (vMix)

  • Lead real-time vMix operation for live shows, match broadcasts, interviews, and digital streams
  • Configure and manage inputs, layers, triggers, shortcuts, overlays, and dynamic graphics
  • Ensure smooth transitions, playback of VTs, lower-thirds, scorebugs, and live graphics integration
  • Operate multiple camera sources, remote guests, and mixed media assets with precision

System Configuration & Technical Setup

  • Prepare vMix sessions, templates, and graphics packages prior to each production
  • Configure audio workflows, buses, mix-minus, routing, and sync adjustments
  • Manage NDI sources, capture cards, encoders, and remote contribution protocols (SRT, RTMP, WebRTC)
  • Work with engineering teams to validate hardware, network stability, and redundancies

Remote Guest & Multi-Source Management

  • Operate remote calls from commentators, analysts, hosts, and guests using vMix Call or equivalent solutions
  • Ensure clean audio, correct latency, stable bandwidth, and balanced visuals for all remote sources
  • Troubleshoot remote connectivity issues in real time

Collaboration with Editorial, Production & Design

  • Work closely with producers to understand rundown flow, segment needs, and timing
  • Integrate graphics, animations, overlays, and replay packages created by design teams
  • Coordinate with MCR and technical operations to ensure asset delivery and playlist alignment
  • Execute commercial inserts, sponsored elements, and branded content according to schedule

Quality Control & Broadcast Standards

  • Monitor audio and video levels, color balance, encoding quality, and signal integrity
  • Ensure compliance with the channel’s technical standards and visual identity
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly and efficiently during live broadcasts
  • Conduct pre-show tests and rehearsals to guarantee readiness

Workflow Optimization & Technical Leadership

  • Develop and maintain vMix workflows, presets, templates, and operational guides
  • Propose improvements for efficiency, stability, and creative possibilities
  • Train junior operators and contribute to skill development within the production team
  • Work with engineering on system upgrades, new hardware/software testing, and workflow innovation

 

What you'll bring

  • Degree in Broadcasting, Audiovisual Production, Media Technology, or related fields
  • Extensive experience operating vMix in live broadcast or professional streaming environments
  • Background in sports broadcast is a strong advantage
  • Experience working with remote guests, multi-input systems, and high-demand live productions
  • Advanced knowledge of vMix (switching, graphics, replay, audio routing, templates)
  • Familiarity with audio/video standards, sync, color, codecs, and streaming formats
  • Strong experience with NDI, SRT, RTMP, and IP-based video workflows
  • Understanding of encoders, capture cards, cloud workflows, and live contribution systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues quickly under pressure
  • Intermediate English for technical documentation and communication
  • Excellent focus, precision, and situational awareness during live broadcasts
  • Strong communication skills with technical, editorial, and production teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and make fast, reliable decisions
  • Proactiveness, problem-solving mindset, and collaborative spirit
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering premium-quality broadcasts
