Senior Oracle Database Performance Engineer

Sofico is evolving its platform capabilities to deliver scalable, reliable, and future-proof solutions for the Miles Enterprise suite. As part of this evolution, we are strengthening our data streaming platform team. 
As a Senior Oracle Database Performance Engineer, you will take a leading role in optimizing migration SQL and data transformation logic in the context of a data streaming platform. You will work closely with product teams, platform engineers, and architects to ensure database workloads are efficient, scalable, and aligned with domain boundaries and long-term product strategy. 
This role requires deep Oracle expertise with a product oriented mindset: you will help teams ship domain capabilities safely and fast, while keeping performance, maintainability, and operational excellence as a focus point. 

Your responsibilities 

• Lead the analysis and optimization of complex migration SQL (bulk loads, delta processing, reconciliation) used in data streaming & initial load flows. 

• Partner with product teams to translate domain and non-functional requirements into high-performance data access and transformation designs. 

• Support domain-driven delivery by aligning database models and migration logic with Domain Driven Design concepts. 

• Establish and maintain standards for SQL quality, review practices, and performance testing (benchmarks, regressions, workload simulation). 

• Contribute to observability and operational readiness: instrumentation, performance dashboards, alert thresholds, and troubleshooting. 

• Document decisions (ADRs) and coach teams on best practices. 

Your Profile

• Significant hands-on experience with Oracle Database in production environments (performance tuning and troubleshooting at scale). 

• Strong SQL expertise, including the ability to optimize complex queries and migration scripts with measurable outcomes. 

• Proven experience with Oracle performance tooling and concepts. 

• Solid understanding of data migration patterns and reliability concerns (idempotency, consistency, reconciliation, error handling, etc.). 

• Clear communicator who can explain trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
