Join Mentimeter as our Senior Data Scientist, where you will set new standards for data science craft within the Data & Analytics (DNA) department and play a pivotal role in advancing our analytics capabilities to drive impactful, data-informed strategies for our SaaS-based business. Data is not only central, but crucial, to how Mentimeter will reach success.
At Mentimeter, the DNA department is on a mission to catalyse our company strategy and drive innovation, growth and impact throughout our company and user journey by using data. We work at the intersection of analytics, data science, and business to deliver actionable insights and solutions that enable better decisions across departments, including Product, Marketing, Sales, and Revenue Operations. Your contributions will directly influence key business outcomes such as customer retention, engagement, and expansion.
In this role, you’ll collaborate with and be supported by cross-functional teams of data scientists, data engineers, user researchers, product managers and company leaders who are passionate about Mentimeter’s mission and using data to achieve it.
What you’ll do
- Design and deploy machine learning models, such as predictive scoring, clustering, and forecasting, with a strong focus on technical aspects of production deployment.
- Elevate the data science craft within the Data & Analytics department by setting new standards, implementing innovative approaches and best practices.
- Be a key part of our Analytics team to align priorities, partner with stakeholders and ensure solutions are relevant and impactful.
- Collaborate closely with our Data Platform Team, Analytics Engineering, and other sister teams to enable the business to proactively act on data and create business impact.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
- Translate complex data analyses into compelling narratives and visualizations that resonate with diverse audiences.
We believe you have
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
- Proven expertise in data science methodologies, with strong proficiency in machine learning techniques and programming languages (e.g. Python and SQL).
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of sales, marketing, and product analytics.
- Expertise in ML modeling with a focus on production deployment and ML engineering best practices (e.g. versioning, monitoring, testing).
- Solid software engineering practices, including git, code reviews, and writing performant, maintainable code.
- Experience collaborating with data engineers on data pipelines, model deployment, and monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality analyses and actionable insights aligned with business objectives.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts through clear narratives and visualizations.
- A track record of mentoring team members and fostering a culture of best practices and continuous improvement.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with modern data tools (e.g. Looker, Hex, Snowflake) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud).
- Experience working within a SaaS environment, with a strong understanding of the unique business challenges and opportunities it presents.

Swedish is not required (as daily work is carried out in English and the Mentimeter team currently boasts 50+ different nationalities)

Please note that this role will have its base in our Stockholm office and is primarily an onsite role, with the opportunity to work from home twice per week.
