About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical QC Lead to oversee all mechanical quality control activities across our projects and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that mechanical installations, inspections, testing, and commissioning activities are completed in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, client requirements, and quality management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all mechanical quality control activities on assigned projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and inspection checklists.
- Coordinate mechanical inspections for piping, equipment, steelwork, rotating machinery, and associated systems.
- Review and approve quality documentation, inspection reports, test records, and turnover dossiers.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, ISO standards, applicable codes, and client requirements.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and third-party inspectors regarding quality matters.
- Identify non-conformances, lead investigations, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and mentor QC inspectors, providing technical guidance and support.
- Support mechanical testing, commissioning, and final handover activities.
- Participate in audits and ensure effective implementation of quality management systems.
Requirements
- Formal Mechanical qualification
- Proven experience in a Mechanical QC Lead, Senior Mechanical QC Inspector, or Mechanical Quality Assurance role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, piping, pressure testing, rotating equipment, welding inspections, and quality control processes.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes such as ASME, API, AWS, ISO 9001, and project-specific requirements.
- Experience managing inspection teams within industrial, energy, petrochemical, manufacturing, construction, or infrastructure environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
- Ability to review technical drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality documentation.
Desirable
- CSWIP, API, NACE, or other relevant inspection certifications.
- Experience working on large-scale EPC, oil & gas, power generation, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing projects.
- Auditor qualification and experience conducting quality audits.
