About the Role 

You should be a driven and experienced Operations Commercial Lead within the facilities management / critical environment with the right skills and ambition to turn our vision into reality. You will be providing day-to-day management to drive commercial best practices, provide assurance against internal Group controls, complete reporting processes and effectively manage commercial opportunities and risk. An effective communicator who will lead and develop key stakeholder relationships to build vendor management programs supporting the operational requirements of the Asia Pacific region. 

 

Main Responsibilities 

Work alongside the Global Commercial team, take ownership for commercial management: 

/ Manage key internal stakeholders to provide bid modelling operational cost inputs and operational delivery solutions for the APAC region.  

/ Responsible for all pre and post contract commercial activities and ensure that Commercial teams are delivering value for money and that fair and effective Commercial Management processes are implemented and maintained. 

/ Responsible for effective finance and commercial management of the contracts and facility providing an effective reporting function and assisting the operational management team in delivering a world class service to our clients.  

/ Be fully conversant with all contractual agreements and funding arrangements to measure and guide contract performance, ensuring business process and practice is conducted in accordance with company policy.  

/ Develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to provide commercial support and advice to the senior management team, minimizing risk and liabilities Ensure compliance with the contracted scope and lease deliverable checklists. 

Business Management: 

/ Contribute to the development of financial plans for data center operations; partner with finance to understand drivers of variances to planned revenues and expenses. 

/ Prepare and present benchmarking and actionable analysis to senior management.  

/ Vendor appraisal, comprehensive understanding of procurement and tendering processes and building external supplier relationships.  

/ Set up effective commercial management controls for the third-party service providers to ensure delivery is aligned to top contract requirements.  

/ Following handover to operations, provide considered, technical, commercial, and contractual advice to live data center projects where appropriate (pre and post contract). Assist with problem solving as and when considered necessary. 

/ Regularly review the risk register and ensure mitigating actions are completed in conjunction with the management team.  

/ Set-up and implement financial and commercial dashboards and monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of area of responsibility.  

/ Support and / or lead on contract negotiations and resolution of commercial claims in conjunction with the data center campus team. 

/ Create, maintain, and enforce policies, process, procedures and governance to manage commercial risk.  

/ Continuous updating and improvement of internal commercial website of KPI/SLA and financial performance. 

 

Qualifications and experience 

/ Possess Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field (equivalent real world experience also qualifies).  

/ Experience in establishing, managing and leading a large project / service contract and / or multiple smaller projects / service contracts, preferably in data center sector or critical mission infrastructure environment.  

/ Experience in contract negotiation with a value in excess of USD $5 million.  

/ Experience in developing, interpreting, and managing complex KPI / SLA models in service contracts.  

/ Experience in dispute and claims resolution both with a client and supply chain and application of complex payment mechanisms and financial / contract reporting. 

/ Strong experience and knowledge in project and program management skills. 

/ Experience in managing client teams and understanding of hyperscale Data Center clients.

/ Good exposure of covering multiple projects with multiple Clients simultaneously across the region would be advantageous.

/ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

/ Proactive, diligent, willing to think ahead ability to understand the wider picture while devoting attention to details. 

/ Excellent external radar so you will pick up on trends / innovations that will add value to the business. 

/ Manages clients and stakeholders skillfully and able to build trusting relationships and with integrity.
