We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented and data-driven Email Marketing Executive to join our Growth Marketing Team. The successful candidate will build, launch, and optimise performance-driven email marketing campaigns ensuring continuous improvement in driving consumer engagement and subscriptions for The Economist.
This role is ideal for someone with junior level experience and eager to refine their technical and strategic skills in a fast-paced, results-oriented acquisition marketing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Build & Execution
- Build, test, and deploy email campaigns, including audience segmentation, dynamic content, and personalisation
- Manage end-to-end campaign execution within Salesforce Marketing Cloud marketing automation platform
- Ensure accurate campaign setup, QA, and timely deployment
Performance Optimisation
- Collaborate with the marketing and analytics teams to track performance metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversions
- Conduct A/B testing on subject lines, design, and CTAs to improve campaign effectiveness
- Implement best practices in design, deliverability, inbox placement, and compliance (GDPR, CAN-SPAM)
Collaboration & Process
- Work closely with designers, copywriters, and marketing managers to ensure campaign creative aligns with strategic objectives
- Maintain campaign documentation, ensuring consistency and accuracy in campaign tracking and reporting
- Support the rollout of automated customer journeys, triggered communications, and performance workflows
To succeed in the role you must have:
- Minimal experience in email marketing campaign execution
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud email marketing platforms
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of HTML for email and basic design principles
- Experience with audience segmentation, dynamic content, and data-driven targeting
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret and report on performance data and recommend optimisations
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
Preferred skills:
- Exposure to A/B testing and reporting tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Tableau, Looker)
- Familiarity with CRM systems and marketing automation including SQL
- Understanding of lifecycle marketing automation
- Understanding of acquisition marketing funnels and metrics
