You will be joining a team of former accountants, engineers, and analysts who work towards building scalable financial back-end products to support our global multi-currency marketplace by automating systems and creating processes, internal tooling, and reporting.
Your expertise in accounting and finance will be greatly utilized in day-to-day work and to drive development efforts on many projects. You will use SQL, SSRS, Tableau, and will contribute to the SDLC (software development life cycle), the testing of new engineering solutions, data ETL (extract, transform, load), and driving processes of our in-house FinTech solutions.
Your main stakeholder will be our Finance and Accounting team who will need your expertise on monthly reconciliations, transaction reports and analysis to support the GL Accounts, audit, and much more. You will also be working very closely with our engineers on driving automation, integrating with new payment service providers, supporting new company growth projects, and finding a needle in the haystack.
This position is a hybrid role, 2 days remote and 3 days in-office per week, situated in New York, NY
What You'll Do
- Build scalable products for outgoing payments. Translate business and financial requirements into data-driven solutions, and write complex SQL queries to build supporting reports
- Collaborate closely with operations and finance team to optimize the reporting process in Snowflake and Hex
- Serve as an SME on journal entry logic and payout processes, overseeing engineering efforts to develop new automated journal entries and validations within financial systems
- Support company projects by providing guidance to stakeholders on FinTech requirements and their integration with FinTech systems
- Assist with building out end-to-end product solutions for the payouts domain
- Assist in accounting audits and reporting requests from the finance team
- Reconcile FinTech subledger data to NetSuite and create adjustment journal entries to remediate the discrepancies by writing ad-hoc SQL queries and testing results for correctness and accuracy
- Assist in month-end close processes and reconciliations
What You've Done
- 2+ years of experience in an analyst role, specializing in working with financial data.
- Extensive track record of successfully leading cross-functional and cross-team work, managing high-impact projects, collaborating with fellow stakeholders, and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Assume full ownership of complex problem areas, define their scope, and adopt a product-centric mindset.
- Exhibit confidence in taking responsibility for end-to-end project delivery, regardless of the outcome or shortcomings of others. Deliver constructive feedback and learn from mistakes.
- Processes strong project management expertise, ensuring their timely execution and adherence to project milestones.
- Proficiency in Excel and basic understanding of SQL with a desire to learn more.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
