Compliance Officer

About the Role

As a member of the Transaction Monitoring Team under Compliance, you will conduct ad hoc investigations, time sensitive blockchain analysis, and develop solutions and controls in line with the Company's Compliance Program. You will collaborate and work closely with with an experienced team of compliance members as well as stakeholders from operations, data and product to maintain the regulatory requirements as part of the Transaction Monitoring framework.

What You Will Do

  • Investigate complex cases on-chain surrounding high risk exposures such as phishing, blockchain exploits, hacks, terrorism finance, , money laundering, sim swaps, ransomware and other activity associated with illicit use of blockchain technology.
  • Utilize various blockchain analytics tools to trace the source and destination of funds, identify illicit activity, build cases, and construct an operating picture of threats.
  • Formulate analysis to determine the risk and exposure and provide investigation reports and risk assessments in writing
  • Conduct ongoing research on key categories of crime on the blockchain, and turn this research into valuable intelligence.
  • Conduct sensitive and complex investigations on ad-hoc basis, such as assisting law enforcement requests
  • Support the enhancement and implementation of controls and measures to mitigate on-chain risks and exposure

What We Are Looking For

  • Practical experience with virtual currencies and blockchain analysis is a plus (preferably 1-2 years combined experience in this field); excitement to learn about these topics is essential.
  • Practical experience and knowledge with blockchain analytics vendors and tools is a plus
  • Experience as an investigator or analyst - either private or public sector;
  • Consistent attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively for technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team and with people at all levels in an organization.
  • Commitment to supporting teammates and helping them accomplish their missions.
