Why we have opened this vacancy: Need a Advisory board/ Consultant CTO to help with solving corner cases of SDO processes and overall processes Audit.
Tasks to be solved:
1.Company level:
- Department structure, responsibilities of middle-level managers.
- People management.
- Unification of coding standards across different projects.
- Unification of DevOps approaches across different projects.
- Improvement of documentation approaches across different projects.
- Optimization of feature flow for iterative development.
- Implementation of best practices in the estimation of projects.
- Approach for customer communication within phases of pre-sale, discovery, and implementation.
- Personal level:
- Activities inside the company (strategic, team performance, architecture, tech etc)
- Time and efforts breakdown between activities. Drivers to have such breakdown.
- Methods and sources for personal skills improvement.
Main tasks in the first 3 months:
- Review existing SDO processes - do an Audit, discuss with the Head, and provide recommendations;
- Work on demand on reported issues from Projects in terms of operational part;
- Join the discussion of Strategic goals for the department and form tactical tasks.
Employment Type: Part-time (up to 10 hours per week)
Your responsibilities in our company will be:
- Be available on demand for the SDO questions with a delay no longer than 1 day;
- Apply experience to define the Root Cause of the problem/gap of the SDO department and provide options for resolution based on best SDO practice;
- Get into details of each escalation from Client side, to effectively suggest resolution and mitigation for it in the future;
- Get tasks offline to prepare proposals, assessments, etc., for the meeting with the COO and Head of Delivery office;
- Hold consultation of COO and Head of Delivery office on demand;
- Hold SDO processes Audit periodically and provide feedback;
- Take a part of SDO Operational Strategy definition;
- Participate in the review and update of the SDO Strategy template;
- Definition of the best effective CTO > Software Engineers interaction model;
- Review of project milestones from a SDO perspective and check-points for it;
- Review checklists for Project launch and Production deployment.
Our requirements to you:
- 10+ years of experience in the Software Engineering;
- 4+ years of experience in Software management (as a Lead/Head).
- 5+ years of experience in outsourcing/outstaffing companies;
- Managed QTY of Developers of more than 10;
- Solid experience in Strategy planning;
- Proven pre-sale\discovery experience;
- Upper-Intermediate English level.
