The Role
We are looking for a Data & Compliance Operations Specialist to join our Operations team and play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and compliance of our merchant and customer data. This role involves KYC verification, data entry, and operational support, contributing to the smooth onboarding and management of our merchants while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
As part of the Merchant Operations team, you will be responsible for reviewing and validating KYC documents, inputting and managing critical data, and collaborating with internal teams to address any discrepancies or improvements. Your work will directly impact Scalapay’s commitment to operational excellence and high compliance standards as a regulated payment institution.

Key Responsibilities
- KYC Verification & Data Entry: Review, validate, and process KYC documents from merchants and customers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Merchant Support & After Sales: Assist merchants throughout the onboarding process and provide post-integration support to ensure smooth operations.
- Database Management & Reporting: Maintain and update KYC databases, generating reports to track compliance status and identify areas for improvement.
- Risk & Compliance Support: Provide accurate data to assist in risk assessments and KYC decision-making.
- Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with Sales, Compliance, Legal, and Operations teams to resolve KYC-related issues and support business needs.
You’ll be Great for this Role if:
- Have an economic degree, high school diploma, or equivalent.
- Have 1-2 years of experience in a regulated entity or data entry roles.
- Are fluent in Italian and English (additional languages like French or Spanish are a plus).
- Are highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and enjoy teamwork.
- Are comfortable working with Office suites and databases and quick to learn new tools.
- Are proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn, with a problem-solving mindset.
