About the Role

We’re hiring a Staff Security Engineer, Endpoint Security to define and lead the strategy for securing endpoints across Nscale.

In this role, you will own the architecture, controls, and tooling that protect laptops, workstations, and other user-operated devices. You’ll work at a highly cross-functional level, partnering closely with IT, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure endpoints are hardened, monitored, and connected into Nscale’s broader security ecosystem.

This is a high-impact role focused on reducing risk across one of the most common attack surfaces while maintaining a seamless developer and employee experience. Your work will help shape how endpoint security supports broader initiatives around visibility, access control, and secure operations at scale.

This role will be part of the global CISO organization.

What you'll be doing

Endpoint Strategy & Architecture

  • Define and drive Nscale’s endpoint security strategy and roadmap
  • Own the architecture, controls, and tooling used to secure user-operated devices
  • Design and enforce endpoint hardening standards across macOS, Linux, and Windows environments
  • Establish controls for disk encryption, secure boot, and device integrity

Detection, Monitoring & Response

  • Lead the deployment and optimization of EDR/XDR solutions
  • Integrate endpoint telemetry into logging, monitoring, and detection pipelines
  • Partner with Security Operations to improve endpoint visibility, detection, and response
  • Implement and scale device posture, compliance, and health monitoring

Identity & Zero Trust Enablement

  • Integrate endpoints into identity and access controls, including device trust and conditional access
  • Partner with Identity and Infrastructure teams to support zero trust and device-based access models
  • Strengthen endpoint security controls in ways that align with broader access and trust frameworks

Automation & Operational Scale

  • Build and automate endpoint configuration management workflows
  • Scale patching workflows across endpoint environments
  • Improve the consistency and security of endpoint operations through automation and tooling
  • Balance strong security controls with developer productivity and usability

KPIs

  • Endpoint hardening coverage across macOS, Linux, and Windows
  • EDR/XDR deployment and optimization effectiveness
  • Device posture, compliance, and health monitoring coverage
  • Endpoint visibility, detection, and response improvements

About You

  • 8+ years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on endpoint or device security
  • Deep experience securing macOS, Linux, and/or Windows environments at scale
  • Hands-on experience with EDR/XDR tools such as CrowdStrike or SentinelOne
  • Experience with device management platforms, including MDM/UEM tools such as Jamf or Intune
  • Strong understanding of endpoint hardening, patching, and configuration management
  • Familiarity with zero trust concepts, including device trust and conditional access
  • Experience integrating endpoint signals into SIEM or detection systems
  • Ability to operate at a Staff level by owning systems, driving cross-functional initiatives, and influencing technical direction
  • Familiarity with developer environments and securing engineering workflows
  • Experience building automation and tooling for endpoint security at scale

The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs.
