About the role

This role involves spearheading our third-party logistics operations, building and scaling a robust logistics partner network, ensuring partner success, and driving key logistics KPIs in a data-driven and cost-efficient manner.

 

Key Responsibilities

3PL Partner Network

  • Identify, onboard, and manage a nationwide network of third-party logistics (3PL) partners across Nigeria.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners to ensure alignment with service expectations.
  • Ensure partners meet onboarding requirements including all legal and compliance documentation.

Performance & ROI Management

  • Design and implement a performance-linked incentive structure for partners based on KPIs like TAT (Turnaround Time), delivery success rate, tech usage, customer feedback, etc.
  • Monitor partner performance through dashboards and field audits and provide timely feedback loops.
  • Drive partner retention by ensuring a healthy return on investment (ROI) and consistent order flow.

Capacity Planning & Fulfillment Support

  • Collaborate with business and warehousing teams to forecast volume and plan delivery fleet capacity at each stock point.
  • Match logistics resources with sales/delivery forecasts to prevent bottlenecks or under-utilization.

Compliance, Risk, and Documentation

  • Ensure compliance with operational SLAs, NDAs, insurance policies, and safety standards.
  • Implement robust risk mitigation frameworks including insurance coverage, vetting processes, and security deposits.

Process Innovation & Tech Adoption

  • Work with product and tech teams to drive 3PL adoption of logistics software and real-time tracking systems.
  • Lead innovation initiatives aimed at cost reduction, automation, and improved delivery efficiency.
  • Introduce and refine SOPs and SLAs to standardize delivery excellence across partners.

Reporting & Data Insights

  • Develop weekly/monthly reporting dashboards to track fulfillment rates, partner efficiency, and delivery KPIs.
  • Use data to optimize territory-wise logistics network design and make strategic decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Warehouse, Product, Customer Experience, and Finance teams to ensure seamless end-to-end operations.
  • Support expansion initiatives with logistics readiness for new geo launches and peak periods.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field. MBA is a plus.
  • 6+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management (preferably with B2B, e-commerce, or FMCG background).
  • Proven experience in 3PL or fleet partner management at scale.
  • Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience in using data to drive decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, people management, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with logistics tech tools, TMS, or delivery tracking platforms is an advantage.
