Job Purpose

The Hardware Engineer ensures that our physical touchpoints—our POS terminals—are reliable, innovative, and always ready to serve our users. You’ll be responsible for the full hardware lifecycle, from designing circuit boards to empowering our repair technicians with the mastery they need to keep our fleet running. You are the link between complex electronics and the everyday business owners who depend on them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Innovation: Create electronic hardware circuits and PCB layouts that meet our high standards for performance and reliability.

  • Product Mastery: Maintain and update the technical "source of truth" for our designs, including parts lists and bills of materials.

  • Empower Others: Develop training and procedures that help our repair technicians work with precision and speed.

  • Continuous Improvement: Create and update repair manuals that make complex fixes feel simple.

  • Rigorous Testing: Conduct hands-on testing of products and tools, identifying design gaps and recommending modifications to make our hardware even better.

  • Strategic Research: Analyse hardware specifications and market trends to determine the feasibility of new designs or modifications.

  • Documentation: Keep detailed, accurate records of repair processes and results to help us learn from every issue identified.

  • Collaborate: Work closely with technicians and other engineers to ensure our hardware strategy is aligned across the team.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

  • 3-5 years experience as a hardware/electronics engineer
  • Experience in terminal or electronics repair is a strong advantage.

  • Strong analytical skills—you enjoy connecting the dots and solving puzzles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and tracking.

  • Excellent attention to detail; you take pride in accuracy and keeping things tidy.

  • A proactive, solution-oriented approach—you don't wait for instructions to make things better.

About you

  • You're a Problem Solver: You enjoy the "how" and "why" behind hardware and love making things work.

  • You're a Teacher: You enjoy sharing your knowledge and helping technicians grow their skills.

  • You're Driven by Mastery: You don't settle for "good enough" and are always looking for ways to improve quality and efficiency.

  • You're Human: You communicate clearly and treat your teammates with respect, regardless of their role.

What success looks like

  • Reliability: Our hardware designs are stable, and POS terminals have high uptime in the field.

  • Competency: Repair technicians feel equipped and confident thanks to your training and manuals.

  • Efficiency: The time taken to diagnose and repair hardware issues decreases through better documentation and processes.

  • Innovation: Your research leads to hardware modifications that directly benefit our business users.

What we can offer you

  • Culture: We put our people first. We’ve built a company where all voices are heard and we look out for one another. Above all, we are human.

  • Learning: We offer a learning-focused environment with knowledge sharing, training, and regular technical talks.

  • Compensation: You’ll receive an attractive salary, pension, health insurance, and an annual bonus.
