Director of Strategic Accounts

Role Overview

As the Director of Strategic Accounts, you will be responsible for driving the success, growth, and retention of our largest and most strategic clients within the EMEA as well as Globally. Your role will be pivotal in shaping client strategies, deepening relationships, and maximizing account potential. By leading cross-functional efforts and aligning internal teams with client needs, you will ensure long-term partnerships that fuel both client success and Mentimeter’s growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Management

  • Develop and execute tailored account strategies to drive growth, retention, and customer success across key accounts in the EMEA region.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts, ensuring a seamless client experience and addressing high-level needs.

Client Growth & Retention

  • Drive our customer engagement models to ensure deep customer value and success. 
  • Identify opportunities for expansion within existing accounts, driving cross-selling and upselling initiatives.
  • Foster deep client relationships to ensure long-term partnerships and maintain high customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Leading Leaders in terms of our Sales Managers
  • Lead our retention & growth teams (Relationship Managers, CSMs & Growth Executives) providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and client focus.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product, and Marketing teams to align on client strategies, product roadmaps, and feedback loops.

Performance & Metrics Management

  • Monitor account performance and client success metrics, using data-driven insights to refine strategies and drive results.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on account health, growth opportunities, and potential risks.

Market Analysis & Strategic Input

  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning in the EMEA region to identify growth opportunities.
  • Serve as a thought leader by representing Mentimeter at key industry events, conferences, and client engagements.

Contract Management & Negotiation

  • Lead contract renewal negotiations and manage terms that align with both client needs and company objectives.
  • Ensure account strategies are aligned with legal, compliance, and financial considerations.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience in selling towards the Enterprise. Handling complex sales & buying processes with the largest companies in the world. 
  • 5+ years of experience in strategic account management and leadership roles within the SaaS industry.
  • Proven success in driving growth and retention across enterprise-level accounts.
  • Strong knowledge of Value based selling and frameworks like MEDDPICC etc
  • Strong background in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to engage at all organizational levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus)
