Warehouse Manager - Jumia (Full Time)

We are looking for a results-driven Warehouse Operations Manager to lead our Inbound, Inventory, and Outbound functions. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all KPIs and targets are consistently met, while driving process standardization and optimization to enhance the overall efficiency of Jumia Services' warehousing operations.

What you will be doing 

  • Ensure compliance with inbound volume projections and schedules
  • Liaise with the Commercial, Vendor Management, and Finance teams to prioritize and reconcile items for inbounding
  • Enforce quality checks and proper packaging guidelines on all inbound items
  • Monitor and manage out-of-stock levels to ensure they remain within monthly targets
  • Conduct and report regular cycle counts; organize quarterly cycle counts with Finance and external auditors
  • Carry out continuous storage capacity assessments and implement optimization strategies
  • Improve picking efficiency through standardization of SKU storage locations
  • Ensure all items from inbound, order processing, and aftersales are put away within defined SLAs
  • Advise the Commercial team on aged and slow-moving SKUs to be discounted or sold online
  • Organize offline sales for defective and damaged items
  • Manage the end-to-end outbound process — Pick, Sort, Pack, and Ship — for Jumia Express orders within SLA
  • Oversee daily order transactions and ensure seamless collaboration across related departments (Inbound, Inventory, Order Processing, Network, etc.)
  • Lead capacity planning in line with weekly volume projections and schedules
  • Manage the projection, utilization, and storage of packaging materials
  • Drive performance management across the team, including benchmarking with other countries, conducting appraisals, and providing coaching
  • Handle team capacity planning, task allocation, and day-to-day monitoring of duties
  • Continuously identify innovative ways to reduce costs across all warehouse operations
  • Minimize losses attributable to theft and damaged items
  • Promote efficient usage of work tools and materials handling equipment
  • Conduct regular 5S audits and spot checks; provide clear and actionable feedback on findings
  • Drive continuous process improvements, including recommending systems enhancements
  • Escalate issues to senior management within appropriate timeframes and provide the Head of Fulfilment with end-of-day/shift handover reports
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or Engineering
  • A relevant professional certification in Logistics or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in FMCG or warehouse/operations management
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and workbook management
  • Strong data reporting and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong people management, problem-solving, negotiation, time management, and coordination skills
  • Self-driven with a high level of initiative and independent follow-through
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with proven leadership ability
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment
