eCommerce Fraud Prevention Manager
We’re looking for the first eCommerce Fraud Prevention Manager to join Gymshark to develop and implement fraud prevention strategies for our international business.
You will be responsible for developing and implementing fraud prevention strategies specifically targeting policy abuse and friendly fraud. You’ll use a customer-first approach to identify and mitigate fraudulent activity without impacting the overall buying experience. This role requires a blend of analytical expertise, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of eCommerce customer behaviors
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
As online fraud becomes increasingly sophisticated, this role is critical to maintaining the integrity of our brand and protecting our global community. By proactively safeguarding customer trust, the Fraud Prevention Manager ensures that our business can continue to grow while staying ahead of emerging threats.
- Analyse transaction patterns and suspicious activities across our online touchpoints, providing actionable insights to enhance fraud detection and prevention.
- Work closely with Customer Experience, IT, Finance, Retail, and other teams to reduce exposure to fraud and enhance customer experience.
- Produce reports and presentations for senior management on risks, trends, and the effectiveness of fraud prevention measures.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging threats to keep Gymshark at the forefront of fraud prevention.
- Identify and implement consistent methods to recover lost funds from customers committing repeated policy abuse, aiming to reduce further exploitation and minimise the perception of Gymshark as a vulnerable target.
- Understanding chargeback processes, analysing fraudulent trends, initiating investigations, and identifying strategies to mitigate policy abuse
Accountabilities include:
- Strategy & Innovation: Design and implement fraud prevention initiatives tailored to the specific business need.
- Influence & Prioritisation: Develop and present clear business cases to raise awareness and prioritise fraud prevention initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead a cross-functional working group, fostering collaboration across various disciplines to deliver business value in fraud prevention.
- Community Safety: Implement strategies to protect our Gymshark community across all shopping platforms and to ensure fraud prevention rules do not affect the genuine Gymshark Community.
- Global Fraud Prevention: Proactively seek external partnerships and global expertise to identify and implement innovative fraud prevention strategies, ensuring maximised impact across international markets and territories.
WHAT YOU’LL HAVE
- Proven experience in Fraud Prevention strategies for digital retail environments.
- Legal Knowledge and experience of the process of potential civil litigation and Data Protection Law.
- Knowledge of fraud detection techniques and legal frameworks.
- Strong ability to analyse data, spot patterns, and identify areas for improvement.
- Proficient with data analysis tools and knowledgeable in e-commerce and retail operations.
- Skilled at influencing stakeholders, building business cases, and communicating the value of fraud prevention initiatives.
- Experience leading teams or working groups across diverse disciplines.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
This is a hybrid role and would require the successful candidate to attend at least 3 days a week in GSIQ, Solihull, UK.
