The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading an engineering team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects, maintaining high development standards, and fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. This role involves both people management and technical leadership to drive performance and alignment with business goals.
What You’ll Be Driving:
- Leading, managing, and growing a team of engineers through mentorship, feedback, and performance reviews;
- Defining project goals, scope, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders;
- Ensuring high quality of deliverables through best practices, code reviews, and testing standards;
- Promoting and implementing Agile methodologies and a continuous improvement culture;
- Reviewing and approving technical designs, ensuring scalability and maintainability;
- Monitoring team progress, reporting on key metrics, and removing blockers;
- Fostering cross-functional collaboration with Product, QA, DevOps, and other teams;
- Allocating resources efficiently and managing workloads within the team;
- Supporting knowledge sharing, documentation, and technical growth initiatives;
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and psychologically safe working environment.
What Makes You a GR8 Fit:
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership role;
- Strong people management skills, including performance evaluation and mentoring;
- Proven experience in successful project delivery and technical decision-making;
- Deep understanding of SDLC, Agile practices, and software architecture principles;
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to delivery timelines;
- Experience implementing engineering KPIs, quality standards, and process improvements;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English – Upper-Intermediate+);
- Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and manage stakeholders;
- Commitment to fostering team development, inclusion, and psychological safety;
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Would Be a Plus:
- Experience working with real-time and batch data processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, AWS Kinesis, RabbitMQ, Redpanda, Spark, Flink, or similar);
- Familiarity with data visualization and analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView, Metabase, Apache Superset);
- Understanding of data platform architecture in high-load, event-driven environments;
- Experience managing data infrastructure in cloud-based ecosystems (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure);
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance practices, especially in regulated industries;
- Exposure to B2B SaaS or platform business models, ideally within the iGaming, fintech, or online entertainment sectors;
- Understanding of BI reporting layers and data modeling techniques;
- Hands-on experience with database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, MongoDB, Redshift, BigQuery);
- Proven track record of improving engineering team efficiency and platform scalability through automation, observability, and infrastructure improvements;
- Familiarity with key metrics relevant to iGaming platforms (e.g., GGR, NGR, player retention, latency-sensitive events).
