Why this role exists:
This role exists to lead a frontend engineering team by ensuring high-quality delivery, effective collaboration, and continuous improvement of development processes. You’ll support team performance, technical execution, and alignment with business goals.
What you’ll drive:
Team leadership & development
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and create development plans.
- Support professional growth, mentorship, and an inclusive team environment.
- Resolve conflicts and promote effective collaboration within the team.
Project delivery & alignment
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables together with stakeholders.
- Act as the main point of contact between the team, management, and other departments.
- Report on progress, risks, and outcomes to ensure transparency and alignment.
Engineering quality & processes
- Enforce quality assurance standards, testing, and validation before releases.
- Improve development efficiency by promoting agile methodologies and best practices.
- Track and analyze key metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Technical leadership & documentation
- Lead development of JavaScript and React applications using functional and OOP principles.
- Oversee unit and integration testing with Jest and Playwright.
- Ensure proper documentation of technical designs, architecture, and code.
What makes you a GR8 fit:
Must-have
- 5+ years of commercial experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or team lead role.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, React, and TypeScript.
- Understanding of software design patterns, OOP, and functional programming.
- Experience with unit and integration testing (Jest, Playwright).
- Ability to lead teams, manage performance, and support professional growth.
- Strong understanding of project delivery, goal setting, and KPIs/OKRs.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Microfrontend architecture.
- Experience with NodeJS.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitLab).
- Experience with advanced testing strategies beyond Jest/Playwright.
- Experience working on high-traffic or complex frontend applications.
