Getnet Payments (Global team) is looking for a Manager – Accounting & Financial Control, based in Boadilla del Monte.

📌WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

We are seeking a highly experienced international financial manager to lead and optimize the Group´s financial management. The role requires deep technical expertise across cash management, funding, FX and interest rate risk management, derivatives, and IFRS-compliant treasury practices, combined with strong governance, systems, and stakeholder management capabilities

Requirements

As Assistant Global Controller, you will report to the Global Controller and collaborate closely with local controllers across jurisdictions.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Financial & Capital Reporting

  • Oversee monthly financial reporting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and local GAAP.
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting requirements (capital, liquidity, safeguarding, operational risk).
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition (transaction-based income, interchange, FX, fee income).

Payments Accounting & Control Oversight

  • Oversee accounting for high-volume transaction processing.
  • Supervise clearing, settlement, suspense and reconciliation accounts.
  • Monitor interchange and scheme fees (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
  • Control merchant acquiring and issuer activities.
  • Ensure proper accounting of FX margins and cross-border transactions.
  • Monitor breakage, chargebacks, disputes and fraud-related accounting.
  • Oversee intercompany flows across international payment entities.
  • Supervise safeguarded / segregated client funds.

Regulatory & Safeguarding Compliance

  • Ensure safeguarding rules for client funds are properly applied and documented.
  • Partner with Compliance and Risk to maintain governance over payment flows.
  • Maintain strong internal control environment aligned with SOX / ICFR and banking regulatory standards.

Systems & Infrastructure

  • Oversee accounting integration with payment platforms and core banking systems.
  • Support ERP, subledger and reconciliation tool implementations.
  • Drive automation of reporting and reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure data governance and integrity across systems.

Strategic & Business Partnership

  • Advise Product, Tech and Commercial teams on accounting implications of new commercial models and products.
  • Coordinate proper accounting implementation of new initiatives.
  • Support M&A processes, new market entries and licensing initiatives.

Leadership & Governance

  • Coordinate and guide local accounting teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across tax, risk, compliance, legal and product teams.
  • Act as key contact for Group Finance, Internal Controls and External Auditors.

 

What we are looking for

Experience

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in similar roles and/or Big 4 audit/accounting firms.
  • Strong background in IFRS accounting and consolidated financial statements.
  • Experience with internal control over financial reporting (ICFR).
  • Experience in fast-growing, regulated or fintech environments is highly valued.

Education

  • University degree or Master’s in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge of consolidation tools.
  • Solid experience in financial statement preparation and accounting analysis.
  • Strong understanding of payments accounting (acquiring, settlement, FX, safeguarding).
  • Comfortable managing stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and functions.
  • English and Spanish required (minimum B2 level).
  • Portuguese is a plus.

Other Information

  • Quarterly travel to LatAm required.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments is strongly valued.
  • Experience working in international matrix organizations.
