The Role

The Banker is seeking a Provision Tracker Analyst to handle and develop a new regulatory intelligence tool capturing key developments in global banking regulation.

Working within a specialist regulatory desk, alongside the editor, deputy editor and staff writer, you will play a central role in maintaining and evolving the Provision Tracker, a structured database designed to monitor regulatory provisions across jurisdictions.

This role sits at the intersection of journalism, research and product development. You will ensure regulatory updates are accurately captured, clearly summarised and structured in a way that allows users to quickly identify the developments most relevant to them. You will also engage directly with readers and market participants to help shape how the product evolves.

This is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity, anticipated to end April 16th 2027.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial and research

  • Monitor global regulators, policymakers and supervisory bodies for developments affecting the banking sector
  • Produce clear, concise summaries explaining the significance of regulatory provisions and actions
  • Collaborate with editorial colleagues to prioritise and select developments for inclusion
  • Ensure content is accurate, timely and relevant for a specialist audience

Product management

  • Maintain and update the Provision Tracker database with structured, well-tagged entries
  • Develop and refine taxonomy and classification systems to improve usability
  • Ensure the tool functions as an intuitive, searchable regulatory intelligence resource

Market engagement

  • Engage with users including banks, advisers and regulatory specialists to gather feedback
  • Support editorial, sales and marketing teams in promoting and explaining the product
  • Feed user insights into ongoing product and editorial development

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong interest in financial regulation, banking policy or regulatory affairs
  • Excellent research and monitoring capabilities
  • Ability to distil complex regulatory information into clear, concise summaries
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage structured information

Desirable

  • Understanding of global banking regulation frameworks
  • Experience working with structured datasets, tagging systems or editorial databases
  • Familiarity with financial services policy, supervision or enforcement processes
