Delegate Relations Executive - FT Live

Sofia

Role Purpose

This is a front-line sales role at the heart of FT Live’s delegate acquisition strategy. You will be responsible for driving ticket revenue and securing high-quality, senior-level audiences for a portfolio of world-class fixed income events, including Global ABS, ABS East, The CEE Forum and The FT Bond Summit.

Using a proactive, outbound sales approach across phone and email, you will identify, engage, and convert prospective delegates, taking full ownership of your sales pipeline from first contact through to registration. You will be confident in high-volume cold calling, skilled at navigating gatekeepers, and adept at using proven sales tactics to overcome objections and close deals. Success in this role requires a sharp eye for detail, the ability to manage multiple leads effectively within our CRM system, and a disciplined, results-driven approach to reporting and performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Proactively source, qualify, and convert high-value delegate prospects to maximise ticket sales across your events.
  • Confidently pitch FT Live’s fixed income events, delivering a compelling sales narrative that drives urgency and secures registrations.
  • Own the full sales cycle, from initial outreach through to close, consistently converting leads into paying delegates.
  • Meet and exceed weekly, monthly, and annual revenue targets, taking full accountability for delegate sales performance.
  • Develop expert knowledge of the buy/sell relationships at our deal making events and sector-specific priorities to tailor sales conversations and improve conversion rates.
  • Consistently hit sales KPIs, including call volumes, dial-outs, and conversion targets, set by the Delegate Relations Team Lead
  • Drive outbound sales activity, engaging prospective delegates with clear, persuasive value propositions that lead to immediate action.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of senior-level prospects, ensuring the right decision-makers are secured for each event.
  • Cultivate repeat business by turning first-time attendees into loyal, year-on-year customers through effective account management.
  • Consider your delivery as part of the wider sales eco-system, upselling and passing on relevant leads to the sponsorship sales team, and being aware of their pipelines.

 Required skills and experience

  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential, with the ability to communicate confidently and persuasively in phone-based sales conversations with senior stakeholders. Additional languages are highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in telesales, delegate sales, or B2B sales with a strong ability to handle objections and close deals
  • Results-driven with a track record of hitting targets
  • Good organisational and time management skills

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience selling conference/event tickets
  • Knowledge of financial services, fintech, or relevant industry
  • Experience working with international clients
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce is a plus)

What’s in it for you?

  • Annual bonus scheme
  • 25 days paid leave
  • 24/7 Employee Assistance Program
  • Life Insurance
  • Enhanced Parental Leave policy
  • Food Allowance
  • Multisport Card
  • Comprehensive in-house training, and external training programs (subject to approval)
