The role

We’re looking for an IAM Engineer in the Identity & Access Management Team within our Infrastructure & Operations Group who are focused on delivering the best possible infrastructure to our end users and the FT as a whole. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers in all Product and Tech teams, as well as product managers, project managers, delivery managers alongside 3rd party suppliers and vendors to design, build and support scalable IAM solutions that allow secure, resilient and manageable access to FT Services and Data. 

 

Key responsibilities

We are looking for engineers who can contribute and grow in the following areas:

  • Delivering continual service improvement of all IAM services and troubleshooting problem areas as required
  • Providing in depth support to both support and project teams. Proactively managing and administering systems that relate to IAM management (Okta, Entra, Active Directory).
  • Experience of providing support of Okta
    • User accounts
    • Directory sync
    • Okta Groups
    • Okta Group rules
    • Management of Administration Roles
    • Okta Workflows
    • SAML 2.0 integrations (SSO, OIDC management)
    • Profile sources
    • Attribute Mappings
  • Experience of Active Directory
    • User accounts
    • Group Policies
    • OU structure
  • Experience of Entra
    • User accounts
    • Structure
    • Permissions
    • Policies
    • SAML 2.0 integrations
    • App configurations
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide variety of people both internally and externally
  • Demonstrate analytical skills with the ability to diagnose issues across code, test, and environment
  • Communicate clearly across product and technology teams and to be able to communicate to different stakeholders and audiences
  • You should be passionate about delivering excellence and to achieve that we encourage self management and ownership of technical issues.

Desirable

  • Exposure to Agile Methodologies (Jira, Working in Sprints, Retrospectives, Planning)
  • Exposure to monitoring and alerting tools (Grafana, Splunk)
  • Exposure to automation
  • Exposure to scripting (powershell, shell scripting)
  • Some knowledge of using Visual Studio and Github
  • Some knowledge of Zapier

This role is an opportunity to develop the skills you already have in a supportive environment, working alongside experienced engineers across the FT Product and Tech teams.

This role is targeting Engineer level, but we are open to candidates looking to grow into the role with the right support, mentorship, and opportunity to develop platform engineering skills.

We currently operate a hybrid model which requires staff to work onsite 50% of the time, subject to role requirements & regular review.
