The Fixed Income Events Division of FT Live is a fast-paced, tight knit team of 35 people laser-focussed on creating the best deal-making events for the structured finance, bonds and private credit communities. We are a portfolio of ten best-in-class events including the internationally renowned industry events Global ABS (30 years old, 5000 people in Barcelona), ABS East (31 years old, 6000 people in Miami) and the CEE Forum (31 years old, 2000 people in Vienna) and fast-growing launches like Private Credit Connect: London which launched last year with over 600 attendees.
The role
The Event Manager will be an experienced professional responsible for the full operational delivery of a portfolio of flagship, industry-leading global events, both physical and virtual. This includes handling budgets to ensure target profit margins are met, while consistently delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities

Work closely with event team, external customers and operations team to implement large flagship event in Miami

Running end-to-end delivery of conferences of varying format and complexity including digital if needed

Source, negotiate with and contract with suppliers

Liaise with venue / platform suppliers about requirements

Compile relevant information for clients to include, but not limited to, clear instructions on submitting required materials to us, access times on the day of the event, venue information, virtual event platform information

Budget management, invoice processing, increasing gross profit margin and reconciliation of balance sheets

Sign off / print event signage and other collateral and materials

Organise staffing plans and requirements for each event to include task allocation, travel and accommodation booking

Devise risk and security plans for allocated events
Required skills and experience
ESSENTIAL
-
Solid experience in B2B event operations managing end-to-end delivery of conferences globally, specifically in the US.

Large scale conference operations experience, ideally with exhibition experience of 50+ exhibitors
-
Experience of working on events in a corporate environment to include both operational management and full budget control
-
Experience in venue and supplier contracting and negotiation
-
Have strong multi-tasking and prioritisation skills and able to work on several projects simultaneously

Exceptional attention to detail
-
Experience in risk policies affecting international events such as VAT, modern slavery, anti-bribery, trade sanctions etc. as well as the event risk management & awareness framework

Strong negotiation and contracting skills with venues and suppliers

Proactive and takes initiative by being able to identify problems, research and evaluate options creatively and innovatively

Self-management i.e. taking accountability and ownership of tasks

Sharing knowledge, experience and giving advice to other team members
DESIRABLE

Strong affinity with digital systems and platforms ideally CVENT and Swapcard
-
First Aid qualified/IOSH Managing Safety Certificate
