About the role:

The Financial Accountant role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, conducting financial analyses, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This role will play a key role in the month-end closing process, tax compliance, and audit requirements, as well as overseeing cash flow and supplier management activities, while also contributing to process improvements and efficiency enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecast and monitor cash to ensure the availability of funds, identifying and evaluating variances.
  • Organize, coordinate, and control treasury operations activities.
  • Prepare cash positions by obtaining account balances, funding disbursement requirements such as payroll, supplier expenditures, taxes, and others, and executing fund transfers.
  • Ensure prompt collection of Transfer Pricing revenue and monitor the return of excess unused cash from travel periods, local expenditures, and disallowed personal expense claims.
  • Review and validate supplier invoices, employee cash advance requests, fitness reimbursements, and other employee expense claims.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely reporting of employee staff advances, including monitoring outstanding balances and proper liquidation.
  • Review and verify vendor information and ensure completeness of requirements submitted to support the creation of new vendor accounts.
  • Ensure timely creation of Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders.
  • Request aging reports and review and verify amounts for payment.
  • Confirm and ensure timely payments to employees and suppliers.
  • Prepare accurate and complete filing of Creditable Withholding Tax (BIR Form 2307).
  • Manage the preparation and submission of BIR Alpha List and other government-related reports and compliance requirements, including BIR Form for Expanded Withholding Taxes, SSS, HDMF, and PhilHealth.
  • Prepare journal entries, accounting schedules (balance sheet reconciliations), and other month-end related reports.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing and financial reporting.
  • Assist the Assistant Finance Manager in completing and complying with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Perform local compliance with government agencies and private institutions (BIR, LGU, banks, and others) by ensuring that all FT business documents and records, including books of accounts, permits, BIR matters, and bank accounts, comply with regulations.
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper filing of accounting records and supporting documents.
  • Assist FT Manila stakeholders with expenditure coding, process documentation, and policy preparation.
  • Follow up with third-party suppliers regarding pending invoices and other related concerns.
  • Perform and participate in ad hoc tasks and special projects as assigned from time to time.

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and tax
  • compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and taxation laws.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as Oracle, Insight, or similar ERP software.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in financial data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
