JOB TITLE: Lead/Manager Database Operations

POSITION OVERVIEW
As a leader part of the global Operations team, the Lead/Manager of Database Operations will lead a team of architects and database administrators ensuring all database infrastructure successfully meet its business objectives.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Manage a team of database professionals to manage and maintenance all database systems.
- Provide guidance to database team on database structures and features.
- Create standard procedures to enhance scalability and performance of existing database architecture.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain database disaster recovery procedures to ensure continuous availability and speedy recovery.
- Supervise installation, migration, and upgrade of databases.
- Ensure that the database is developed according to business requirements.
- Prepare reports on database scalability and capacity planning as needed.
- Identify and resolve database issues related to performance and capacity.
- Oversee day-to-day activities of database team.
- Develop best practices for performance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure database management and maintenance tasks are performed effectively.
- Conduct training programs for staff on database development and maintenance procedures.
- Perform regular audits to ensure data integrity and quality.
- Provide regular updates to management on database project status.
- Stay updated with new database technologies and analyze such technologies to bring into scope of existing infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 12-14 years’ experience with database technology (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- 5+ years of experience leading technical teams
- Expert in Oracle RAC/ASM/Active Data Guard/Golden Gate/OLTP & OLAP architecture
- Expert in backup backup technology such as RMAN/Rubrik/Data Domain
- Experience in running Oracle databases on RHEL/AIX/RDS/OCI/GCP
- Development experience in at least one object-oriented language (Python, Perl, Java, etc.)
- Data architecture and migration experience
- Experience leading data driven discussions & designing scalable data platforms and high availability.
- Leadership experience, initiating and driving projects.
- Presentation and communication skills.
- Advance degree in computer science or engineering.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Participate in incident handling and off-hours/weekend maintenance activities, as necessary.
- General office environment and responsibilities requiring:
- Extensive use of the computer which involves viewing a monitor and keyboarding for most of the workday.
- Placing and receiving phone calls
