We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Credit Control Specialist to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the credit control function, ensuring timely payment from clients, and minimizing bad debt exposure.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
The Junior Credit Control Reinsurance will work collaboratively with reinsurers to maintain strong financial relationships.
1. Credit Management and Invoicing and Statement Reconciliation :
- Assess credit risk for new and existing partners, utilizing financial data and credit reports.
- Establish and monitor credit limits in accordance with company policies.
- Reconcile client statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
2. Collection Activities and Account Receivable Monitoring :
- Implement proactive and strategic collection efforts to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances.
- Communicate effectively with partners to address payment issues and negotiate repayment plans when necessary.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and take appropriate actions to minimize overdue payments.
3. Reporting :
- Prepare regular reports on the status of accounts receivable, bad debt exposure, and collection activities.
- Provide management with insights and recommendations for improving credit control processes.
4. Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and internal stakeholders (Underwriting and Claims teams).
5. Credit Policy Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with company credit policies and procedures.
- Recommend updates to credit policies based on industry trends and company needs.
6. Legal Actions and Debt Recovery:
- Initiate legal actions and coordinate debt recovery efforts when necessary.
- Liaise with external agencies and legal counsel to expedite the resolution of delinquent accounts.
Profile requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, with a first successful credit control experience or similar role (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable)
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
