The role
As a Data Analyst, you are passionate about experience innovation and eager to push the boundaries of what’s possible. You bring 3+ YEARS of experience, a growth mindset and a drive to make a lasting impact.
Ideal candidates will have strong quantitative backgrounds and creative problem solving and data storytelling skills founded in analytical discipline. While they will a demonstrated ability to write code, they will not have learned programming languages for the sake of building their resume, but rather as a means to express their intellectual curiosity and analytical voice. Valtech will provide a platform and training to help them reach their full potential.

Role responsibilities
- Analyze large and complex raw datasets to generate meaningful insights for large enterprise clients, ensuring scientific rigor, reproducibility, and trusted analytical outputs.
- Interface with ETL workflows data pipelines, and analytical data products to develop reports that empower stakeholders to make effective data-driven decisions.
- Communicate analytical findings clearly and visually, translating technical results into intuitive insights for business and audit-focused stakeholders.
- Build compelling and highly interactive dashboards and visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or custom web applications.
- Structure traceable reporting and audit artifacts and chains of evidence in a highly organized manner.
- Conduct deep-dive analytical investigations and develop KPIs to support strategic decisions and measure business impact.
- Translate processes into data flows and diagrams. Exhibit system-level thinking and cross modality interactions—supporting both BI and machine learning data pipelines.
- Full competence in the suit of Azure reporting and analytics services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Power BI) plus Tableau, Looker, etc.
- Manage project timelines, dependencies, deliverables, and risks to ensure successful execution of analytics and data engineering initiatives.
- Gather stakeholder requirements—especially from banking, credit bureau, or financial audit environments—and conduct technical due diligence to design pragmatic data-driven business solutions.
Must have qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- 3+ Years of proven industry experience executing data engineering, analytics, or data science projects, AND a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, analytics, Informatics, Business Administration or other computation-intensive disciplines.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, capable of identifying gaps and troubleshooting the full lifecycle from data ingestion through insight delivery.
- Strong experience with Azure Cloud services, cloud architecture principles, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Direct experience working with stakeholders in the Banking industry, Credit Bureaus, or financial audit organizations.
- Upper-intermediate English communication skills.
- Advanced Portuguese communication skills.
Nice to have qualifications
- Proficiency with BI visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI, or visualization libraries like ggplot2, matplotlib, seaborn, Bokeh, or D3.js.
- Familiarity with cloud architecture components across Azure (preferred), AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Data Storytelling and visualization, interactive and exploratory analysis project experience or interface design role in prior projects.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear technical approaches, distilled insights, and actionable recommendations.
- Experience utilizing statistical or machine learning libraries to solve business problems.
- Background in executing or contributing to technical data, analytics, or machine learning projects.
- Experience working with clients or stakeholders in the Banking industry, Credit Bureaus, or financial audit environments.
