Senior HR Business Partner, New York
The Senior HR Business Partner is a new role providing regional partnership to our Chief Commercial Officer and GM, Retail and Wholesale and supporting the daily needs of the small – but growing - US team. You’ll help deliver Gymshark’s people strategy by supporting the ambitious North American growth plans across retail, wholesale, events and digital channels.
This is a high-impact generalist role requiring strategic input alongside tactical, hands-on delivery and would suit an experienced HR Partner looking to work in a fast paced, multi-faceted role. Our plans are big and there is a lot to do to set up for success. You’ll need to be comfortable with quick decisions and changing priorities, love working in the detail and focusing people-based activities to help meet business outcomes.
The most senior HR role in the Gymshark North America, you’ll be part of a Global People team, based 3+ days a week from our new Lower Manhattan office (Greene Street) but working collaboratively with UK-based colleagues daily.
What you’ll be doing
- Development and delivery of pragmatic solutions to help drive the functional business plans in a commercially viable way
- Senior, strategic partnering with hands-on HR process management and People support where needed
- Provision of expert advice and support to line managers on all HR / People related issues
- Ensuring all employee relations issues are handled in line with legislation, and that process and procedures are updated with legislative changes and expansion into new states
- Prioritization of the safety and well-being of our employees and diversity, inclusion and equity in all aspects
- Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, using excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills to keep projects on track
- Working within a Global People team, contributing to the strategic agenda and projects as required
- Ambassador for Gymshark culture: leading by example in demonstrating our values, setting the standard of what that means in North America, holding others to account
What You’ll Need
- Previous HR partnering experience in a US-based business is essential, ideally as part of a Global Business where you worked with colleagues and stakeholders overseas
- Up to date knowledge of US employment legislation and operational guidelines across multiple states in order to be complaint in the business
- Retail Industry experiences preferred, ideally in fast-paced, multi-channel apparel/fashion with experience of opening new stores
- Ability to work autonomously, in a risk-taking, fast paced environment, comfortable making decisions
- Commercially aware, able to understand the cost and value drivers within a competitive business environment
- Ability to build strong working relationships and influence multiple, often senior, stakeholders
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Comfortable working at pace, with change and with a pragmatic, delivery focused approach
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification is highly preferred.
