Product Developer - Womens (12 month FTC)

The Product Developer Women’s manages efficiently the product development process of Womens product category, ensuring  on-time development of high-quality products that meet Gymshark  standards. 

The Product Developer is responsible to manage on-time the development critical path for each product and coordinates the product development with linked cross-functional team (colour, raw material, fit and quality). 

The Product Developer will ensure that all products align with aesthetic, construction, performance, safety, sustainability claims, and regulatory standards, ultimately delivering products that meet customer expectations and uphold brand integrity. 

This is a 12-month FTC maternity cover opportunity. 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, coordinate and manage the product development process, ensuring that all products are developed on time and within the agreed-upon timelines. Maintain a clear and organized product development critical path, tracking all milestones and deadlines.  
  • In charge of the product’s construction, fit, and overall make-up. Collaborate with design and other technical teams to ensure that the products meet design specifications and align with fit standards to ensure good fit and fit consistency. 
  • Ensure the products will be manufactured to the highest quality, aligning with brand standards.  
  • Manage the coordination with the cross functional teams (colour, fit, raw materials and quality) to ensure that all aspects of product development are well-coordinated. Address any cross-functional challenges or delay and ensure smooth communication across teams to meet development goals. Act as a point of contact for all technical topics relating to his/her developed products. 
  • Ensure that all products are tested and meet safety and regulatory requirements. 
  • Accountable to verify that the products match the relating sustainability and performance claims. 
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to ensure that development timelines, quality standards and technical specifications are met.   
  • Actively address any issues or challenges that arise during the development process. Ensure that problems are solved quickly and efficiently, minimizing any potential delays. 
  • Maintain thorough documentation (tech pack and sealed samples) on product development process. Provide regular update of the status of product development to manager. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Accountable for ensuring the on-time development of products, managing the entire product development timeline and critical path. Proactively manage and communicate any potential delays.  
  • Accountable for the product’s construction and fit, ensuring that all developed products meet the required fit specifications and consistency and construction standard. Ensure that prototypes and samples are aligned with the intended design, quality standards, and customer expectations. 
  • Accountable for coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth development and delivery. Act as of point of contact for all teams related to product development. 
  • Accountable for ensuring that all products meet legal, regulatory, and safety standards.  
  • Accountable for ensuring that the developed products meet performance and sustainability claims. 
  • Accountable for maintaining detailed and accurate documentation on product development, including technical specifications, product samples, vendor communication, and timelines. Provide regular updates to senior management and key stakeholders on development progress, any issues, and project status. 

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Essential Skills: 

  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, and technical development. 
  • Strong knowledge of the product development timelines and steps. 
  • Good technical understanding of other product development and technical processes: colour development, raw material technology and quality. 
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices, safety regulations, and product compliance standards. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including design, sourcing, production, and quality assurance. 
  • Ability to report and provide clear and accurate status. 
  • Analytical and critical thinking. 
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight dealines. 
  • Proficiency in product development tools and systems (e.g., PLM, Excel, CAD software, etc.). 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors. 

 Preferred Skills: 

  • Fluent in written & spoken English. 
  • Analytical and critical thinking 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite 

KEY SKILL REQUIRED AND ESSENTIAL IN THIS ROLE IS: Experience at Gymshark or elsewhere in one of the women's product categories and the impact you had to improve fit, quality or processes
