Software Engineer II - Mobile (Native Foundations)

StubHub is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our Mobile Native Foundations team within Consumer App Foundations (CAF).
This team builds and evolves the core mobile platform that powers StubHub’s consumer applications. Rather than focusing solely on feature development, Native Foundations engineers strengthen the shared architecture, cross-platform infrastructure, performance layers, and developer tooling that enable mobile teams to ship quickly while maintaining exceptional quality.
As a mobile engineer on Native Foundations, you will work across React Native and native iOS/Android capabilities to improve the core systems used across the organization. You’ll contribute to reusable infrastructure that supports millions of users globally and ensures our mobile experience remains performant, scalable, and resilient.
This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving foundational problems, improving developer velocity, and operating with meaningful ownership.
Consumer App Foundations (CAF) operates horizontally across StubHub to provide shared infrastructure, standards, and platform capabilities that power every consumer product team.
The Mobile Native Foundations team focuses on:
- Core React Native architecture and cross-platform foundations
- Native module integrations and platform-level capabilities
- Performance optimization across iOS and Android
- Experimentation enablement and feature flag infrastructure
- Developer tooling, build systems, and CI/CD improvements
- Establishing guardrails that make quality the default

What You'll Do:
- Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain shared mobile platform capabilities
- Develop reusable React Native components and native modules
- Improve application performance, startup time, memory usage, and responsiveness
- Strengthen mobile architecture, state management, and dependency structures
- Partner with feature teams to ensure platform scalability and maintainability
- Contribute to experimentation infrastructure and release enablement systems
- Debug production issues and continuously improve mobile system reliability
You will have meaningful autonomy and accountability. Your work will influence engagement, conversion, and revenue across a global marketplace.
What You've Done:
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong experience building and shipping production mobile applications (iOS, Android, or cross-platform)
- Solid understanding of mobile architecture patterns and performance optimization
- Experience integrating backend APIs into production mobile applications
- Comfortable operating in high-ownership, fast-moving environments
- Proven ability to independently deliver from implementation through production support
Nice to have:
- Experience with React Native (not required)
- Experience building shared component libraries or internal mobile tooling
- Experience writing native modules that bridge to React Native
- Experience improving CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
- Experience with feature flagging or experimentation frameworks

The anticipated gross base pay range is below for this role. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and competencies. Base annual salary is one component of StubHub’s total compensation and competitive benefits package, which includes equity, 401(k), paid time off, paid parental leave, and comprehensive health benefits.
Salary Range
$165,000 - $200,000 USD
