Junior Accountant (m/f/d)

About the role 

As a Junior Accountant at Sofico, you will join our international finance team, focusing on the timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions and assisting with the month end closing process.  

Collaborating with your colleagues, the role will have responsibility for day-to-day accounting activities and certain tasks during the month-end closing process. This will include bank transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, VAT, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations. You will also provide support during annual financial audits. 

Following an initial onboarding period where you'll familiarize yourself with our accounting practices and specific business processes, you'll progressively assume accounting responsibility for at least one legal entity. 

With Sofico's sustained expansion, the finance team’s scope of tasks will continuously grow and diversify, providing ample challenges and growth opportunities for every team member. 

Your skills and experience 

Required Skills

• A formal qualification in accounting/bookkeeping or comprehensive on-the-job experience (2-3 years) 

• An solid understanding of financial accounting principles and their application 

• A good level of IT proficiency, with the ability to navigate and utilize various software effectively 

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook 

• An understanding of VAT and its implications in financial transactions. 

• Competency in English, both written and verbal 

Bonus points

• Experience of working in an international technology or professional services business

• Familiarity with NetSuite
