Your Responsibilities
As our Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for providing dedicated pay and reward expertise and professional guidance to our colleagues.
This role will be responsible for ensuring all policies, processes and procedures relating to payroll and employment tax are reviewed and maintained in line with legislation. You will play a vital role in safeguarding the financial wellbeing of the company and ensuring our colleagues are paid accurately and on time. Your goal will be maintaining compliance and streamlining payroll procedures for efficiency.
- Develop and enhance robust systems to process payroll transactions.
- Collating data from payroll sources and maintain payroll records.
- Oversee processing of payroll changes (New Hires, promotions, and system upgrades)
- Maintaining contact with the external payroll provider for the UK, submitting the data for the monthly payroll process, reviewing the preliminary reports, and approving the final version of the pay slips.
- Ensuring all starter and leaver paperwork is processed in a timely manner, depending on local requirements.
- Arrange weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
- Administer benefit plans.
- Maintain the Payroll inbox and respond to online and in person queries.
- Ensure payroll is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
- Preparation of payroll related documents.
- Maintain accurate account balances.
- Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements and support internal and external audits related as such.
- Resolve issues relating to payroll from colleagues.
- Advising team members about taxes and employment laws on Salary
- Calculating wage increments, pension, overtime payments and public holiday pay
- Processing pension uploads and queries
- Issuing bank transfers for employee payments
- Analysing and reporting on payroll data
- Auditing the payroll to make sure it satisfies all government regulations.
- Developing and leading the refining of payroll procedures
- Responsible for filing P45s, P60s, P11Ds
- Contractor timesheets and filing

- Previous payroll management experience, demonstrable success in a similar role
- Accurate documenting skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills needed to convey complex payroll matters to all levels of the
- Competent IT skills, particularly proficiency with payroll software
- You’re analytical and comfortable in dealing with data/numbers.
- You’re used to forecasting, budgeting, and reporting on key business data.
- You’re able to meet deadlines by having strong time management skills.
- You’re a motivated self-starter and passionate people manager, that’s keen to make a difference.
- You’re confident and used to presenting data in an interesting way.
- You’re an effective influencer that can manage stakeholders.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skill.
- You’re a good organiser who is level-headed under pressure.
