Client Relationship Associate
The Company
We’re Octopus Legacy: one of the fastest growing tech companies in the country, part of the UK’s most exciting and best-trusted group (you may have heard of some of our sister companies…) and we have a mission.
We’re on a path to scale, aiming to become a household name while transforming a long-established industry and helping our customers prepare for, and find support after, death.
But we can’t do it alone, and that’s why we’re assembling a team of top performers to build with us.
Ready to be part of something big?
The Role
We’re looking for a driven, client-focused Client Relationship Associate to join our growing team! In this key role, you'll be the first point of contact for potential clients exploring estate planning services. You’ll handle initial discovery calls, assess client needs, and qualify leads before passing them on to our team of estate planners. Your goal is to gather key financial and personal information to determine if the client is a good fit for our services, including evaluating asset value, inheritance tax exposure, and identifying high-net-worth individuals. You’ll receive training on our services and relevant products, giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise.
This position is perfect for someone who is eager to learn, thrives in a fast-paced, startup environment, loves interacting with clients, and excels at fact-finding and qualification. You’ll play an essential role in making sure that our estate planners focus on the most promising leads, which will directly impact both the client experience and our business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement: Be the first touchpoint for potential clients, leading high-energy discovery calls to quickly understand their needs, goals, and financial situations.
- Qualification & Fact-Finding: Dive deep into gathering essential details about assets, inheritance tax, and financial context to determine the best-fit services for each client. Quickly understanding a client’s needs is key to providing a seamless, tailored experience - ensuring they feel supported and guided to the right solution with confidence.
- Lead Triage: Sort, assess, and prioritise incoming leads, flagging high-net-worth individuals or complex cases that deserve further attention.
- Collaborative Support: Partner up with our estate planning team to seamlessly hand off qualified leads and ensure clients have an exceptional, smooth experience from start to finish.
- CRM Management: Stay on top of client interactions, update lead statuses in real-time, and ensure CRM data is accurate and up-to-date in our fast-moving process. As a tech-driven business, Octopus Legacy relies on correct data to make informed decisions quickly, so attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
- Client Education: Break down estate planning concepts and next steps in a digestible way, making sure clients feel informed and confident as they move forward.
Who Are You?
- Background in financial services - wealth management, estate planning (preferred).
- Experience in a client-facing role (sales, financial services, customer success, etc.) and have dealt with high net-worth clients (bonus!).
- You love digging into the details, asking the right questions, and truly understanding client needs.
- You know how to build trust, keep conversations engaging, and make clients feel valued from the first call.
- You can juggle multiple leads, keep track of key client info, and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.
- You’re adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced setting, and get excited about solving new challenges as they come.
- You’re comfortable navigating CRMs and know how to qualify leads efficiently to keep the pipeline flowing.
Our Mission
When people think about planning for death they think about wills, life insurance and funerals. We take these cold processes and turn them into something more human. Share more than money: leave voice notes, music, recipes. Shape a legacy that connects you while you're here. And after you're gone.
Founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly, we’re a group of people who work in death because we’ve been affected by it. We know the difference a good plan makes, and what it’s like when there isn’t one.
Death can come between us, leave mess, legal fees, frustration. But it can also make us stronger. We see a world where people talk openly about death, and work out the real meaning of legacy, one that connects to them. We’re here to make that world happen.
