Role Overview

As the founding member of our divorce and separation team, you will handle a varied caseload of private family law matters, with a particular focus on divorce, financial remedies, and children matters. You will also play a key role in contributing to the development of the department.

This role would suit an experienced family lawyer with a passion for innovation in the legal market and who wishes to be there at the start of a new venture in the divorce and separation space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage a diverse caseload of family law matters, including divorce, co-parenting agreements, and financial settlements, while maintaining high technical accuracy.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating discretion and professionalism.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings.
  • Draft court documents, agreements, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with technical and product teams to develop innovative solutions for family law clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable legal regulations and standards in family law.

Who are you?

  • Substantial post-qualification experience in family law, with a proven track record of managing high-stakes cases.
  • Expertise across the full spectrum of divorce, separation and co-parenting. 
  • Strong understanding of divorce processes, client pain points, and the nuances of family law (experience handling high-net-worth cases is highly desirable).
  • A track record of building client relationships and contributing to business development.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an aptitude for simplifying legal complexities for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Passion for technology and interest in contributing to an innovative legal-tech solution.
  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest ethical standards.
