Senior Product Manager
The Company
We’re Octopus Legacy: one of the fastest growing tech companies in the country, part of the UK’s most exciting and best-trusted group (you may have heard of some of our sister companies…) and we have a mission.
We’re on a path to scale, aiming to become a household name while transforming a long-established industry and helping our customers prepare for, and find support after, death.
But we can’t do it alone, and that’s why we’re assembling a team of top performers to build with us.
Ready to be part of something big?
The Role
We’re looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Product Manager to help drive our most important product initiatives during an exciting phase of growth. Reporting to the Founder, you’ll take ownership of critical areas of the product, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and the business.
This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments, and who shares our values of Optimism, Customer First, and Hard Work. You’ll combine strong execution skills with product thinking, helping shape and deliver our product vision in close collaboration with leadership and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver product strategies and roadmaps aligned with company goals, balancing customer needs, growth opportunities, and technical constraints.
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle - from discovery and definition through to launch, iteration, and optimisation.
- Translate insights into clear product requirements, and partner closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, and other stakeholders to execute effectively.
- Gather and synthesise customer feedback, market signals, and product data to inform priorities and guide decisions.
- Monitor key product metrics - including activation, engagement, and retention - and use data to continually improve product performance.
- Communicate product plans and updates clearly to internal stakeholders, driving alignment and transparency.
- Bring structure to ambiguous challenges, and take initiative in high-priority problem spaces with limited direction.
Who Are You?
- 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of end-to-end product delivery in a fast-moving environment.
- Customer-obsessed, always thinking about how to make experiences better, simpler, and more impactful.
- Adaptable and resilient, with a track record of thriving in change-heavy, startup-like environments.
- Proven ability to deliver successful products aligned to business goals and user needs.
- Strong collaborator with excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working autonomously, with a bias for action and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working in data-informed environments; able to balance analytics with customer insight.
- Curiosity about AI and enthusiasm for applying emerging technologies to improve products.
Our Mission
When people think about planning for death they think about wills, life insurance and funerals. We take these cold processes and turn them into something more human. Share more than money: leave voice notes, music, recipes. Shape a legacy that connects you while you're here. And after you're gone.
Founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly, we’re a group of people who work in death because we’ve been affected by it. We know the difference a good plan makes, and what it’s like when there isn’t one.
Death can come between us, leave mess, legal fees, frustration. But it can also make us stronger. We see a world where people talk openly about death, and work out the real meaning of legacy, one that connects to them. We’re here to make that world happen.
