Sales Associate

London

The Company

We’re Octopus Legacy: one of the fastest-growing tech companies in the country, and part of the UK’s most exciting and best-trusted group. We have a mission.

We’re on a path to scale - aiming to become a household name while transforming a long-established industry and helping individuals and organisations prepare for, and find support after, death.

But we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’re building a team of self-starters, problem-solvers and people who bring energy to everything they do.

Ready to be part of something big?

The Role

As a Commercial Associate at Octopus Legacy, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our new business growth across employee benefits and bereavement training.

Working closely with Dylan Burke, Head of New Business, you’ll support the day-to-day commercial engine of the business - owning post-event follow-ups, managing inbound enquiries, nurturing referral networks and making sure no opportunity is left behind.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role with plenty to get your teeth into. We’re looking for someone who’s a get-on-and-do-er: organised, proactive, commercially curious, and comfortable bringing ideas to the table.

You’ll be at the centre of how we turn interest into action, helping convert warm leads into meaningful conversations and long-term partnerships. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, love joining the dots, and want exposure to how new business is built at a scaling company, this role will suit you perfectly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support new business activity across our employee benefits and bereavement training offerings.
  • Own post-event follow-ups, ensuring timely, thoughtful outreach to attendees and prospects.
  • Manage and respond to inbound enquiries, qualifying leads and routing them effectively.
  • Maintain and nurture referral networks, keeping relationships warm and active.
  • Keep CRM records accurate, up-to-date and commercially useful, assist with pipeline management, reporting and forecasting.
  • Prepare materials for meetings, pitches and partnerships.
  • Spot opportunities to improve processes, follow-ups and conversion rates.
  • Work closely with commercial, marketing and delivery teams to support growth.
  • Bring energy, initiative and a solutions-focused mindset to everything you do.

Who Are You?

  • A self-starter who takes initiative and doesn’t wait to be told what to do.
  • Commercially curious, with a keen interest in sales, partnerships or business development
  • Highly organised, with great attention to detail and follow-through.
  • A confident communicator, skilled at building relationships via email, phone, and in-person.
  • Thrives juggling multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proactive, resourceful and always thinking one step ahead.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems (Hubspot in particular) and digital tools.
  • A team player who brings positivity, momentum and fresh ideas.
  • Motivated by meaningful work and building something that matters.

Experience in sales support, commercial operations, or partnerships is helpful - but attitude, energy and ownership matter most.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Direct exposure to senior commercial leadership, giving you real insight into how new business is built.
  • A fast-growing company where you can learn quickly and make a visible impact.
  • A supportive, ambitious team that genuinely enjoys collaborating and celebrating success together.
  • Plenty of opportunity to grow, develop, and progress as the business scales.
  • Work that combines commercial impact with real social purpose.

Our Mission

Octopus Legacy is the place to plan for death and find support after loss. When people think about planning for death they think about wills, life insurance and funerals. We take these cold processes and turn them into something more human. Share more than money: leave voice notes, music, recipes. Shape a legacy that connects you while you're here. And after you're gone.

Founded by Sam after his mum died suddenly, we’re a group of people who work in death because we’ve been affected by it. We know the difference a good plan makes, and what it’s like when there isn’t one.

Death can come between us, leaving mess, legal fees, frustration. But it can also make us stronger. We see a world where people talk openly about death, and work out the real meaning of legacy, one that connects to them. We’re here to make that world happen.
