Finance Director

To accompany the business on our next phase of its strategic development, Napoleon has decided to seek and appoint a new Finance Director. This is a unique opportunity and a key function within Napoleon that is central to the strategy, future growth and success of the business. 

Supporting the General Manager of Napoleon, Philippe Joos, and working in close collaboration with the finance team of Superbet, the newly appointed Finance Director (FD) will be a key member of the Napoleon Executive Leadership team. The FD will partner with the General Manager to provide strategic leadership for the business, in close collaboration with the remainder of the Executive Team. They will lead and develop the finance organisation to provide in-depth and actionable analysis for strategic planning, whilst ensuring operational effectiveness. 

The FD will play a pivotal role in driving the company’s future growth. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a rapidly evolving business. The FD will oversee a team of 15 finance professionals based out of the company headquarters in Aalst, Flanders.

What you will be doing : 

Strategic Direction

• Act as a strategic business partner and active contributor to shaping Napoleon’s business strategy.
• Lead financial forecasting and budget processes.
• Drive productivity and fuel growth by identifying cost savings and opportunities to fund investments with strong ROI.

Financial Oversight

• Direct and oversee the full spectrum of Finance and Accounting processes driving quality and speed of execution.
• Ensure proper and timely Financial and Tax accounting in accordance with Belgian GAAP including oversight of statutory audit process.
• Monitor financial KPIs in alignment with Napoleon’s growth strategy.
• Protect the company, ensuring compliance with financial and tax regulations and strengthening, monitoring, and enforcing a strong internal controls environment and appropriate financial reporting processes.

Team development

• Act as a leader identifying staffing and training needs, evaluating employee performance, and coaching finance staff.

We are looking for someone who : 

• Has relevant leadership experience across the Finance spectrum.
• Can build relationships with other senior leaders to drive business performance.
• Has a track record in steering teams of Accounting and Finance professionals.
• Is skilled in strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes. This includes business case analysis for material investment propositions.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills  with the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team environment.
• Understands specific operational drivers of performance; able to recognise patterns and effectively influence.
• Is a passionate people leader skilled in identifying talent, developing people, and building teams.
• Is self-directed with the ability to effectively manage competing  priorities. Capable of easily switching from strategic thinking to tactical, execution-oriented thinking.
• Has a relevant academic or professional background (e.g. Finance,  Accounting)
• Has experience within the Gaming sector (is an advantage).
• Has excellent Dutch and English language skills (written and oral).
